Has anyone replaced the built in 100w/400w inverter in their Tacoma? Where is the stock one located?

It's located under the center console. There's a 400W anytime mod if you search for it.

If you're talking about replacing it with a larger one, it's pointless because you'd have to beef up all the wiring too to handle the larger current. If that's the end goal, just install a new one completely independent of the oem one. It'll be much simpler.

Maybe, but it would be nice if there was a larger one that fit in the same place. Since you would have to run new wires anyway, it's not anymore work to run them along the factory harness. Utilizing the OEM switch would be nice, too

Me? I have no idea. I was just thinking how "small" a 400w inverter is but I have no plans for anything right now.
