Anyone replaced front seat cushions?

Has anybody here rebuilt their drivers seat by replacing the bottom and back seat cushions?

After a bunch of miles, the TRD seats in my '06 are sagging a bit and getting uncomfortable. I want to replace the cushions.

How hard is this to do? What about the airbag in the seat, does that greatly complicate this operation?

I need to lose a few pounds, but I am not a total fat ass, but after 275k miles the cushions are shot.

You can follow the DIY leather interior thread to disassemble & reassemble your seats. It is a sticky in the technical chat sub forum.
The foam cushions are available from Toyota. Sorry but I don't know the part #

 

Depending on what the factory seat parts cost, you might just swing by an upholstery shop and see what they would charge to restuff them. I'm usually surprised how reasonable those guys are.

 

What happens the other times?

 

I go to the next shop and look for the reasonable guys.

Funny, I was just visiting my local upholstery guy and he was replacing a bottom cushion for someone. I actually didn't know that you get those cushions. He said without the priginal cushion is hard to get the seat to look right again. He also said that just the bottom cushion was $300! I don't know what make of truck that was.

 

Did you ever end up replacing the cushions? About to do my driver side.
