There are quite a few install videos available on video channels .... some go into great detail. Furthermore, if you go for the push button start then think about the proximity switch. it will activate your start button when you are in a very near proximity... some systems require you to put the activator on top of the sensor, the sensor under a cup holder and your activator in it.
they have become very very cheap. it hardly makes sense to replace a cylinder lock anymore. that is my opinion of course.

Ignition locks are essentially complicated flat head screw drivers. You just need the key to turn the screwdriver. If you remove the lock and look down the hole you'll see how simple it is. In a vehicle without chipped keys you just need to turn the rod and you'll get the exact same result as with a key. I did the same with my 01 mustang after I bypassed the security key doohickey. That vehicle got a rfid system from digital guard dawg so it was a keyless ignition but only worked when the keyfob was nearby. It also did remote start/alarm, the usual junk.

I went old school on my sammi off-road rig and on my old jeep. You need a switch of some sort to power on the ignition system and then a pushbutton or switch to start. For both of those I ran a couple switches, 1 for ignition and another for the stereo type stuff. You end up with the same functionality of a keyed switch, being able to turn on the accessories and not turn on the ignition. If you use a generic start switch that can handle the current you can do the entire thing for maybe $10 and not use a relay. I like to keep any real high amp pulls under the hood instead of through a switch but I've done it both ways. Put the power switch/button somewhere it's not obvious and you're fairly secure.
