Tires are in my future so I've begun to research in preparation for the next Discount Tire Direct ebay discount. Running stock 265/65/17 on 4runner rims right now, so I have a slightly wider stance versus stock TRD sport rims.

Originally was considering 265/70/17, but my truck spends most of it's time on Southern California asphalt so I don't need a wider tire for 'wheeling or flotation. I've been eyeing Cooper AT3s in 255/75/17 as it would give me a little more height without added weight and rolling resistance, and was wondering if anyone was running those on a stock height Tacoma.

I am curious on this but I am sure they will fit fine. I am running the wheels off of a 2016 4Runner Trail Premium with the factory 265/70R17 Dunlop's with plenty of room to spare. I have no doubt that the 255/75 will fit since they are not much taller.

    Edit : Whoops, I've got a 3rd Gen.

Thanks. Your tire diameter is about a half inch bigger than stock. a 255/75 is another inch bigger, so it'd be 1/2 inch front and back for clearance. Based on what you with your tires, do you think there's room?

Seems like it might be too big but I figured I wouldn't know unless I asked!

I am running that size on LT load range C AT Revo 2s. I have some slight rub on the front driver side at full left lock only, but I think it's an alignment issue. I have my mud flaps removed. I also switched to FJ wheels at the same time which I think have like 1/2" more offset, so that may have helped too.

Very helpful, thanks. I believe my 4runner Trail wheels were also offered on FJs, so the offset may be the same.

I'm running that size with Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmors on the stock 17" sport wheels and I get a bit of rub if I hit a bump while at full lock, but otherwise nothing. The only time I hear it, really, is my

Exact setup, no lift. The only time it rubs is full lock on the driver's side, and even then it's extremely limited.

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac on the 4Runner TRD Pro wheels, no mud flaps.

I'm running 255/75R17 Duratracs on TRD Pro Wheels.

I had some rubbing...till I started cutting and pounding.

    Trimmed the fender flare.
    Trimmed the wheel well liner.
    Pounded the pinch weld flat.
Removed mud flaps (front and rear).

    No more rubbing.

All that being said....not all 255/75R17 tires are the same size.

    Duratracs are ................32.07" H x 10" W
    Cooper ST Maxx are .......31.77" H x 10.2" W

    You get the point.

    Like, so many.
I just got 265/70/17 but I saw some 255/75/17 on a jeep today and they looked really good.
