Yeah according to expedition overland they had to relocate the axle .5" forward.

That's a good sized tire as well. What kind of tires were you looking to run?

Looking for the duratracs. I have no need for a mud terrain and it will be a tire I use year-round so it has to be good in snow. I'd love KM2s but not on ice.

Lack of siping makes the KM2's crappy on ice.

Lack of siping yes, but the harder compound is bad on ice as well. I'd love the look but I can't afford two sets of tires. I actually have a set of studded snow tires now but they'd look ridiculous with my lift. So I'm trying to sell them and my current ATs and pick up duratracs. Unless I can find a suitable tire in a different size!

Sounds like a good plan. I'm fortunate enough to have scored a set of Firestone Destination tires and factory wheels for the winter. And I have my AWD beater if conditions get bad.

I have 255 85s with some steel wheels idk what they are i picked up the wheel tire combo on craigslist. im running dr coilovers up front and deaver spings in the back. i rub up front barely at full lock on the frame and on the front of my rear fender flare. axel relocation blocks will fix that.

swimmerboy, 255 85s are a great tire choice, if you chose to go this route than understanding a few things first is a must. 1. every leaf spring setup is different for lifting the rear of the truck, this means that the final axle location will be different. I have read of people using the deavers in the back and having to locate axle foreward. I use dakars and had to relocate axle back a half inch. centering the axle perfectly even in the wheel well is the key using the relocating block, which is very easy to use. 2. I constantly hear people saying that lift is needed to fit bigger tires but its not true. the front end under full compression is in the same place with or without a lift (at the bumpstops ) all the lift does is increase ground clearance and improve the quality of the ride. 3. you will have to trim a little. some people have to flatten the pinch weld but it didn't. I actually did not have to address the front end at all and I don't rub. I even have my front mud flaps on. but in the rear I had to cut about a 2 inch piece of plastic of the corner of the fender flare and that's it. I rub barely at full stuff still but not enough to damage anything. everyones truck is different and you will have to figure out what yours will need. even the factory placement of the bed can have a lot do do with it. heck a quarter inch farther foreward or back can make the difference.
and lastly, every set of 255 85s are not created equal. they range form 32.5 inches (traxus I believe) to 33.4 inches ( toyos I believe) so that alone will also make a huge difference. I run maxxis tires which come in at 33.1 inches . hope this all helps
