I dont think its gonna make a difference on the Tacos man, The stock tires I believe are not even C-rated like the p265 Nittos. I have the E-rated 285 nittos for light trucks but thats just because I couldnt find any C-rated

Its all about the load capacity and I believe C-ratings can handle like 2500lbs per tire or something like that you can look it up. E-rated will handle like 4000lbs per tire better for towing heavy equiptment which that tacos tow package is rated at 6500 lbs anyway

    basically it wont matter LOL

Passenger doesn't matter. I have those on my truck. Mine are high performance tires. I drive my truck like a sports car & handling is great.

I got mine for $118/tire. They are fine for the Tacoma even with a load. I haul an atv in the bed and sometimes tow a flatbed with 3 quads on it. I also offroad on trails and have had no issues. My gas mileage changed maybe 1-2mpg. The ride and handling is great, I have no issues or complaints. I have had them for 6 months, so I can't comment on long term.

I'm running 17x9 rims also and P265/70/17 Nitto TG.

Here is the site I found the best price on...
    http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/Nitto_Terra_Grappler_Tires.cfm
I printed it out and took it to a shop in town that price matches.

    :D

The Nitto TG P load rating is 2535lbs and the LT is 3195lbs. The stock Dunlops (P rated) that came on my truck are rated at 2039lbs. The TRD OR comes with BFG rugged trail P265/70/16 and is rated at 2185lbs, Sport comes with 265/65/17 rated at 2125lbs. So as you can see the Nitto TG P rated tire has a higher load capacity than the stock tires.

dont need spacers for 265 tires. They will be about 1/2 inch taller but the width will not change so you should be fine.

285's need spacers or different wheels that are wider like 17x9. The stock wheels are 17x7.5 or so

285s are also close to 2inches taller

I'm not running spacers, I don't really know much about them or when they are required. I'm sure there is better info around here than I can provide. :)

Wheels and Tires: 17x8" Ultra Goliath wheels with P285/70R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3/W tires, Suspension: Fox coilovers set at 2", TC UCA's, 1.5" lift 3 leaf pack with overload left in Other: TRD SS exhaust, Pioneer AVIC 4100 H/U with Android Auto (awesomeness), sat radio bluetooth, Accessories: Toyota roof rack, black Toyota running board steps, cargo divider, weathertech floor liners, Literider roll up soft tonneau, thule bars over tonneau, USB ports front and rear, seat heaters, birddawg mirror riser Cosmetic: window tint, grillcraft black mesh upper/lower grill, vinyl armrest in doors, Clazzio black seat covers with blue stitch, Redline steering wheel wrap Lighting: fogs only mod, back up lights, amber interior accent lighting, amber 10" LED light bar in hood scoop, 33" LED bar behind the lower grill, amber lamin-x on fog lights, Tacomabeast headlights and matching tails.
265 is just the width. You need to figure in the aspect ratio to calculate the overall tire height. 265/65R17 are stock on the sport pkg. 265/70R16 are stock on the OR package.

    265/65R17 are 30.6 inches tall. (31")
    265/70R17 are 31.6 inches tall. (32")
    285/70R17 are 32.7 inches tall. (33")

    265/70R16 are 30.6 inches tall. (31")
    265/75R16 are 31.6 inches tall. (32")
    285/75R16 are 32.8 inches tall. (33")

You can get a 255 that is still 33" tall, just skinnier. A 255/85R16 is only 10" wide but 33" tall.

What is the widest tire you can get without it sticking out beyond the fenders?
