What'd you ever end up doing OP? I'm curious about this as well.

Sorry to revive this old thread but I did some research to see if anyone else has done this and it looks like OP was going that route so just thought I would share what I did.

Just to clarify on OP's point, these are accent lights to be run as daytime running lights similar to the raptor lights but in white so they are not as bright as light bars which most people here seem to be running in their hood scoop. I figured since I already have a light bar, I didn't need another one.

I didn't want to fork out $100+ for the Putco lights: https://truckprousa.com/i-28983165-putco-led-dayliner-g2-270125b.html

I used these waterproof accent light strips I got locally instead: https://poshmark.com/listing/Acello...White-USB-LED-Lights-61c781aa2a1eff36ce47b080

I can post install instructions if anyone is interested (it's really ghetto since these are usb powered). They seem bright in the pictures because it was pitch black in the garage but unlike light bars, I have a hard time knowing if they're on when I'm inside the truck. Will try to get daytime pictures. I'm assuming they are legal since they're only as bright as most daytime running lights but not sure if the location on the hood would be an issue. Haven't got pulled over yet.

As you can see from the picture, they are nothing compared to my light bar.
