after talking to a FOX representative at the pomona off road expo, he said that the fox 2.5 remote resi's are not built for stock tacoma shock mounts so i can only run 2.0's....is this true!?!?!?

Makes sense to me. Although I do not run the fox shocks, I have a pair of extended travel SAW race-runners in the rear. I'm in the process of fabing up new upper shock mounts for the rear because the shock will bottom out before the bump stop hits at this point. Not that big of a deal, but it is if you dont want to be cutting, grinding, and welding on your chassis.
