I thought I wanted to build the new truck with a simple suspension so I decided to give OME a try. I ordered 888 springs (tallest and softest combo) with Dakar rears and Nitrochargers all-around. I added the driver side shim packer for lean and my initial thoughts were good. Decent amount of lift with a compliant, wash-board friendly ride.

Here's the day I lifted it:

After a few weeks of settling, the front settled LOW. I was running silly rake again and my new tires were rubbing. So I added a 1/2" alloy spring spacers to both sides from Wheeler's. That got me back to where I wanted, but then added armor (mostly aluminum stuff from RCI) and the truck, especially driver's side is sitting at the pre-lift ride height. Here's the latest pic I have:

I know I know: what did I expect with soft springs and adding skid plates and sliders, but it's not like I'm running a 200lb winch and bumper combo. I wanted a simple lift but now I'm wishing I had just bit the bullet and bought Kings. Anyone else have experience with the 888's settling low?

I am in the same boat, but with 887's. I lost 1.25" center hub to fender after installing full metal skids and sliders.

    Did you consider the 886's?

No...just gonna do King's with 650lb springs when the funds allow.
