I don't think mine does. But you can easily tell they're on from the light output. Think there is a cheap module that fixes it.

Yes, the high beam indicator works fine
Go right ahead, I think it looks great. The metallic flakes in the silver grab sunlight well and makes them pop pretty good for not having halos

Halos serve no purpose anyways except for adding another potential failure to the mix.

That's why I chose not to put them in my Tacoma headlights and am not putting them in my Tundra headlights. I don't think they're worth the potential headache

The 1995-1997 have a smaller type bucket 5x7 and the D2S type are hard if at all able to fit in.
The mini 7.0 will fit tho in the 7x8 headlight buckets

You mean 5x7 or 200mm headlights. 7x8 is a little big.

These are the ones I use,

They are metal buckets and glass lens the best quality,

But harder to work with because they are metal but well worth it.
No plastic lens to fade or dull or wrap

I've worked with them. Expensive compared to the Pilots but those are unavailable now so I use UnitedPacific headlights for $60. They use plastic lenses and reinforced aluminum housings. I prefer the plastic lens over the glass only cause it doesn't distort the cutoff. Those Nokya's do have the clearest lens above all other glass lenses but I still notice a little bit of distortion so it's just a personal preference.

    Good to know
I looked all over the place for the pilots because they had the long tail section that would not need
cutting up but could not fine them anywhere,
The Nokya make a glass lens and a Polycarbonate lens.
I’m happy with them (glass) but they were a pain to get the mins 7.0 to fit.

Sirius out of Taiwan actually makes the Nokya headlight,

Glass will not yellow or get dim looking,
    Personally choice

yeah I don’t think they’d fit in the 95-97 style. Those Phillips bulbs put out a nice light!

You can make any projector fit but it's more work than most want to do and understandably so. It requires cutting out most of the bucket and JB welding stuff in it's place.

Long time listener, first time caller, or whatever people say.

Here's what I did, and have done in the past.

Get yourself an extra set of headlamp assemblies. If you get ticketed, you can swap in the old reflectors and fix your ticket, only to swap them back. I'm sure all retrofitting is illegal, especially in California where I live, but it doesn't stop anyone, does it? You'll need to stick them in the oven to melt the glue that holds the lenses on. It's a very easy process.
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-01-04...r-Halogen-Chrome-Left-Right-Set-/382669197408

Get some projectors and shrouds. Yes, I was surprised that these 3" projectors did fit:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Automobile...hrouds/322629378416?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

    You'll need a wiring harness:
    https://www.ebay.com/p/18020361670

And an adapter if you're going to run LED lights:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/9005-9006-...ter-Wires-For-Projector-Retrofit/380885187533

    And also some LED lights:
    https://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_...+2019+New+Gen+of+HIKARI,+H1+&_id=273910605225

    They work.

If you have a 1995.5-1997 Taco that uses the H6054/5x7 headlamp assembly, you can reference what I've done on my 1993 pickup here:
    https://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/threads/h6054-projector-hid-retrofit.23158/

There's actually a lot of LED drop in replacements available these days for 95-97, since H6054 is shared with Jeep XJs and work vehicles. No retrofits necessary, and some of the high end ones are absolutely crazy in terms of extra features and output.

    Here's one that Philips makes:
    https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Auto...dp/B08DDFTVYQ/ref=psdc_15730151_t1_B0102OHFHO

Then just add a wiring harness to deal with Toyota's switched ground:
    https://www.amazon.com/Headlight-Harness-Toyota-Headlights-Problem/dp/B07B9QQMMH

I think this sort of replacement is preferable for a 95-97 because the reflector is properly designed to work with the LEDs, unlike a DIY retrofit. My only gripe is that all of them use plastic lenses, even the most expensive JW Speaker 8910, but I got used to caring for plastic lenses on other vehicles, so I guess I can deal.

For someone looking for an easy drop in they will work but for the same amount of money and if you do the work yourself then you can't beat the cutoff and output of a HID projector retro. I would also argue that the Hella E-codes and a top end H4 bulb will outperform the LED headlights of JW and Trucklite while also being able to melt snow/ice.

Do all the Tacoma’s need a inline type resistor for the high beam indicator to work or just the early Tacoma’s? With these projectors HID.

My high beam don’t work with the projectors so I did buy a motorcycle type inline resistor specific
for this problem which did make them work and it must have gotten to 150 degrees so got rid of it and I just live with out

I'm not sure. It could be different depending on what aftermarket relay harness. Mine worked but my high beam indicator was led also.
