Anyone have some real world feedback on Ridge Grapplers in the SL load? I can't find much feedback anywhere.
I'm debating between the Ridge Grappler 265/75R16 in "E" and "SL." I currently run Cooper ATP's in "E" at 49lbs per tire. The RG's in SL are 49lbs and the E are 57lbs so I'm kind of deterred from the "E" but I'm also a little hesitant about the "SL" not being able to handle rock crawling trails either.
Anyone out there that actually "uses" these tires offroad with good success? My truck is my DD so the "SL" sounds good but I'm also a tad weary.

    i ordered some in 285/70r17.

im getting them put on next week.

i have no intentions of doing a ton of off roading so i can at least provide feedback on them as a DD tire.

i have the e load, as there was no c-load when i bought my 265/70/17's.. loved them at first, smooth ride. quiet, little weight to balance,, now around 15000 /20000 miles they are very loud,, 1/2 tread left.. im on the tire hunt now, going 255/75/17 c-load next

@lilyota12 Been running the 265/70R17 SL Ridge Grapplers for almost 25k miles and they have been a great tire held up well and still have about 40% tread left. Next set will be 285/70R17 SL or trail grapplers in C.

    this and that...
sl rated tires usually hover around the 40lb mark. that ridge grappler is a heavy mf if sl is rightabout 50lbs lol. i know toyo at2&3 is right around the 41lb threshold and goodyear duratracs is right around there too. im running the toyos on my trails and gonna put duratracs when they come in on my ray10s. this is in 265/70/17 variant so your 16s should be a slightly lighter if anything.

I'm running the discontinued C rated Ridge Grappler, 265/70 R17.

About 9k miles and still like new. This is a heavy tire btw, cuts gas mileage down a bit. Recently had them rotated at America's Tire, the Mgr measured the tread depth and mentioned they were still like new. 20190824_161002.jpg

Running 285/70/17 SL/Passenger/C whatever you want to call it. Only put about 1k miles so far. Air pressure and alignment play a big part on how they feel on-road. IE: Between 32# to 34#, vice versa, steering was much better at 32#, but a little heavy. I'm trying to keep it at 33# and so far it's been the "best"

I've only taken it offroad once at Pilot Rock and once on some easy trails in Big Bear Lake. Didn't have any issues.

So yours are the SL or the C load rating? I'm torn between the two different load ratings as well. Going for a 285/70/17 as well

It's definitely not E load. I didn't see the need for it nor the extra weight on my daily.

After putting on 23k miles on them, they are still performing great off and on road. Definitely louder on road, but not as bad as KO2s.
