    Hello all,
I have a concern with my B+M and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing?
I installed it about a month ago. Shifts great, feels sturdy, overall best shifter I have felt. Now, it feels sloppy. I can twist the shift knob side to side now, and there is slop back and forth. It feels loose, and does not inspire confidence at all. It honestly feels like the stock shifter but with a shorter throw. And keep in mind, I drive and shift normally. I dont shift hard or race my truck.
Any advice would be appreciated. I would be pissed if I spent $375 for a piece of junk, but please be honest.

Do you have the new style B&M or the old style?

New Frame (not a mod but still worth mentioning), OME 3” Suspension Lift (Leveled), SCS Blaze 10 & Falken Wildpeak A/T4W (33’s), Revamped Exhaust System (Magnaflow Catalytic Converters & Flowmaster Flow FX CAT-BACK Exhaust), K&N High-Flow Cold Air Intake, CaliRaised Fog Lights & 32” Light Bar (Hidden), AlphaRex Headlights & Taillights, LED 3rd Brake Light, B&M Short Shifter, Body Armor 4x4 Rear Bumper w/ Rigid Flood Lights, Rigid Ditch Lights And more to come…
I swapped the stock shifter in my ‘05 out about 1 year ago with the B&M. I’m pretty sure it’s the new style and I haven’t had any issues… Still shifts clean & crisp for me as the day I installed it.

I have the new one, I believe. It has the "fully isolated" shifter to reduce NVH. I wonder if that bushings is just crap already?

I have bushings for the old style B & M. Nothing for the new style.

Is it possible that the rubber bushing is already bad? It seems unlikely to me, since the shifter has a good reputation.

I think I figured it out. There are 2 bolts with bushings inside, which bolts the upper shifter to the lower, and makes the 2-piece shifter design. One bolt backed completely out and is now missing. I'm going to attempt to repair it, ill let yall know if I'm successful.
This photo is what it looks like. There should be a second bolt parallel with the single one.

I fixed it. I used 2 screws with washers and orange thread locker. Shifter feels as solid as a rock with short, crisp throws.20241216_132120.jpg
