maybe if you got a 2nd gen parts truck and cut the complete door and door jamb assembly from the 2nd gen and welded it onto a 1st gen then yes, but short of that, you would have to be good enough to engineer, shape, mold, and build your own door jambs, doors, and latches, completely from scratch.

oh it is doable if you have the time, means, and skill. anything can be done if you have that.

it is certainly not something that would be that much harder then any other form of custom body mod so if you are game and are willing to commit, the next step is very careful measuring and planning to be sure there is the space for it and body lines will line up and work.

just please start up a "build" thread so we can follow your work on this cool mod

IMG_2626.jpg My conversion: shelf with lip, cut-outs for access; 1/2" birch multi-ply, thru-bolted with stainless hardware. Cantilever design creates cubbies under front edge. I plan on painting it a dark color.

    I bought this:

...and put it behind my seats. It sits on the back bench. To keep it secured in place i have a ratchet strap wrapped around it that goes behind the fold down rear seats. It's honestly a perfect fit, it goes from wall to wall in the cab, it is a great height, and it's not so long that it gets in the way of the front seats.
