Good point. Didn't think of that.

As for taxing solar, that'll be interesting to see lol... How the hell could you tax someone for harvesting the sun, especially if you decide to be off-grid and get a couple battery packs.
I think the future we're headed towards are people adding battery packs to their home once SDGE changes the NEM and the gov will wanna tax you for using a cable going across town or something.
As of now though, the battery isn't really cost prohibitive. It must feel good using SDGE's equipment and paying em just a few bucks lol. I'm going through the paper work for my solar system this week. One step closer

Its honestly a perfect combo. Tacoma for camping and hauling furniture/yard items for home projects. Tesla for driving around town etc.

$150K + just in vehicles?? Obviously most of you are doing much better than me and my wife and we make 6 figures. Go figure.

Well, six figures can be $100,000 or $900,000...slightly different levels:D

We barely make six figures. To own a Rubicon a Tacoma and a Tesla or 2 Teslas or have a down payment on a Rivian etc is a hard no on my budget and probably a majority of most "hard" working Americans.

Model 3, 4 years old , 38k after tax rebates.
All payed for . In SoCal, cars last a long time, no rusting out here. I bought evs + solar to protect against future energy spikes, just drive taco and Jeep when needed.

Especially these days, the days of overpricing everything. Even used. If you want a daily driver, a Tesla 3 or Y will suffice and is well under 100k and closer to 60k.

Looking at the bolts right now.
I missed the model 3 train. Price is way out of my range to justify it at this point.
I think a couple Kias are coming out too under 30 new with rebates.

Plus look at your state incentives. In NJ BEV's under $55k get $5k off the final price at purchase time.

Gas pain in California going to get worse as a strike at chevron refinery in norcal
I’m sure local gas stations will use as excuse to bump to over 7.

I’ll keep my petro fuel eating Tacoma over a Tesla. I’m sure Tesla’s are real fun camping, Not.

Tesla’s have a camping mode. I’ve never camped in mine, but I charged my 3 at one. Camped in my sprinter, more comfortable.

Yea it’s a picture on this display of the woods with the radio playing out door noises, super fun. I’ll stick with my Tacoma.
