so I have a 2017 trd or 4x4 auto. The truck has about 1800 mikes on it and I'm really co soldering trading in and trading up to a trd pro manual.

I can get more then I paid on my trade so I might make the move

Here is a pic of what the truck sits like now

And the pro would be white or cement

    Any one else done this?

weird, almost looks cement in that pic

trade is worth MORE than you paid? seems like a no brainer then
if the Pro is what you want.

Yeah I paid 36.2k out the door

They offered me 38 the way it sits... because if the lift and tires

And yeah it's sky silver metallic but the way the light hits it I thought the same thing...

I just don't know if it's worth a 10k difference to get the pro?

Or if I should just slap a katzkin kit in mine and call it a day

    I love the truck

Wow, that's a lot of Mike's. Did you have a Mike party and they climbed all over your truck? How did the sheet metal hold up?

Ignore the dealer's trade-in math and focus on the bottom line cost to you. There's no way the dealer, who can get trucks from Toyota all day long, has any interest in giving you more money for your used truck than they could get one from Toyota. They can put different numbers in the trade-in value box and make it up elsewhere to try to entice you, but in the end the dealership is going to be making a profit here.

Your truck is already modified, so you'd also be out the money you spent on those modifications. This seems like a bad financial decision all around. I'd recommend just enjoying your truck as-is. Buy a few extra TRD Pro parts if you must, because that's still going to be cheaper for you than buying a whole new vehicle.

I thought about doing the same but since Im doing a LT setup it made more sense to stay with the OR because of what they want for a Pro.

Do you have JBL, sunroof, or leather installed? Those are the reasons why I have an Off-road and not a Pro. I wanted better sound, added LEATHER (pics coming Thursday night :)), and enjoy a sunroof.

I wouldnt man. Your truck is sweet. The dealer is offering good money for your truck because they will probably be making a pretty penny when they sell the pro to you. At the end of the day you are probably breaking even ( you arent making out like you think) because you aren't considering how much you put into the truck (lift, tires, etc).

I don't have any of that

But honestly I don't need it all I really want in the pro is the look and the leather

Love the factory fox set up but yeah...

I'm thinking put some katzkin in it Tuscany leather ( like 1794 tundra style ) and call it a day

I have a topper coming in next few weeks to all colored matched :))) I was just having second thoughts

All the cool guys on here have pros... one day I guess lol

This is a simple decision to make.

Step #1: Figure out your out of pocket costs to trade in against and buy the Pro. Any offer from a dealer is putting money in their pocket, not yours. Include taxes and so forth.

Step #2: Figure out your out of pocket costs to refit your OR to get you whatever aspects you like about the Pro such as the grill or skid plate or whatever.

Step #3: Choose the lower cost of the above two options.

I think the Pro is another 1 inch lift (2inches total), a little pricey, and still as capable as the TRDOR models. I have read from several posts that buying a TRDOR and then modding is wayyy more fun and wallet friendly in the long-run.

To each his own but be happy above all. Your truck is pretty sick already. I am still waiting on my Tonneau cover but a color coded top sounds interesting.

Same here. I had one on order all ready to p/u but after some thought
and losing my - Moon-roof, wheels/tires, Upgraded speakers/amp/full cab ported Sub, OEM bed cover
and a bunch of other things that total about $5k...... so for me it just wasn't worth it.

PLUS...... I'd want to put most of those upgrades back on....way too much loss!

I'd be suspicious that they want to give you that much because of the lift, most dealers don't pay extra for lifts, thats common knowledge here, if they gave you $38k for your truck that means they'd have to sell it for $39-40k to make any profit, on a used OR, thats a hard sell and hard to believe. Sounds like they are inflating one number the trade at the expense of the other number. Always look at the total price, not one factor of it. And keep the Off road way cooler than the pro, they will make more and you'll see more the rare factor will wear off.

    They want $48,000 for a $41,710 MSRP M/T Pro???

I think I see how they can afford to offer you $38k on the trade...
