Do we not already have a rock-resistant paint on that part of the body of the truck? I noticed that my paint looks and has the texture of orange peel in that exact area and asked some guys at a local paint shop and they said it was a factory rock-resistant coating.

Yeah we definately do but I am noticing small dings in the coating from getting slammed with rocks...No mud flaps and tires that stick out past the wheel well could possibly be the problem:D...was hoping someone could chime in with all the knowledge most of these members have.

There is your problem right there.

This is why i dont run wheel spacers and keep the mudflaps on... paint looks great.

I don't know about you but my mud flaps on the front decided to remove themselves after a few years.

if i plan on doing any sort of offroading, i have a small hole bottom dead center of the fronts that i run a piece of bailing wire through and pull the flaps back and up and hook to the frame. Gets em up n out of the way and i dont have any issues then.

The rears are short enough that they only rub a little.

I have tires that stick out past the fenders and no mud flaps and I haven't had any problems with it chipping. I like to do donuts in gravel too, so Idk why yours is chipping and mine isn't. lol

I can assure you they are taking a pounding...maybe its the salt/back road combination I'm just curious if anyone has tried these? I may have to be the guinea pig!

I ripped my mudflaps off before I did any modifications to the truck and never replaced them nor have the desire to. These panels I'm trying to get feedback on could help my situation. My truck is also 7 years old not one year.

No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
    Give it more time.

I have a few small chips in mine and I just have AT’s that don’t stick out but no mud flaps.

front looks bad and the I took the rear off before they broke off. all the plastic clips where broken any.

    Yes
Good idea but is looks a bit 80's IMO. You could just get glear vinyl wrap or the clear rocker panel protection they sell at auto parts stores and it would be quite a bit cheaper and blend in better.

Good alternative but I was hoping to cover some of the dings and dents from the abuse...these ones look like they are pretty heavy duty. But slightly 80's haha maybe your right. I really want to see what they look like first.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Why not just finish the area you are interested in covering with MonstaLiner?

Done well, it would look similar to the OE chip guard, just work better.

Should weigh less, not risk trapping stuff behind it or being torn off, and can be touched up.

    Not affiliated, yada yada.
