I was looking at Facebook Posts for 3rd Gen Tacoma's and someone posted a picture of a steel rear bumper that looked like it was an OEM fit (no cutting required) and they said that it costs them about $500 so I asked them for the link for it and they didnt respond :( today however I was looking at CarID.com and I found it:

    CarID link: https://www.carid.com/tjm-4x4/full-width-black-rear-hd-bumper-mpn-081st37a89b.html

CarID didnt have a picture however so I went on the manufactuer's website and found it with pictures: https://www.tjmusa.com/get-4x4-equi...sent/rear-bumper-tacoma-2016-081st37a89b.html

It always bugged me that the front and rear bumpers for 3rd gen Tacoma's are made out of plastic but I dont like the idea of cutting to make aftermarket bumpers fit. I know eventually if I want to upgrade to off-road bumpers I will need to cut but I want to limit cutting as much as possible.

What I like about this TJM rear bumper is that its 63mm steel, it maintains the class 4 trailer hitch + trailer hookups, and I believe it should be OEM so no cutting should be required.

Has anyone tried this company before? they seem to have an Australian website too.

P.S - I dont plan to change my rear bumper right now I am just doing some research for future upgrades.

Unless you go high clearance, you won't need to cut.

    Here are some examples

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rear-hidden-hitch-bumpers-not-high-clearance.590385/

Also check out BAMF standard (not high clearance) bumper. Very affordable.

All the options I linked remove the factory boat anchor hitch. It helps your departure angle considerably, as the factory hitch hangs down so low.

As for the TJM bumper... yes, many people have installed it and written about it. Search function will be your friend.

I found the best deal here but ended up passing because of the lack of Blind Spot Monitoring. TJM is a great company. I had one of their bumpers on my 98 4Runner. You can see pictures of the 3rd Gen installed here. The backup lights are pricey . Front bumper here ( has them too), TJM Rock Sliders, TJM Suspension Kit

If you email Rogue OffRoad, Shawn should be able to provide you with a TW discount code before ordering.
