I have looked all over Google without finding my answer. I have a 30" behind the bumper that and I really like that it's very low profile. I just wish it had the output of a 50". I know some of the 4D bars use 5w LEDs and my bar uses 3w so would it be possible to change the LEDs in my lightbar to get a greater output. Also can I get reflectors with a 10-20* pattern.

It would be easier to just buy a new light bar. Or get rigid industries :D

Was really hoping to have a project out of this and be able to say I "built" it. I'd really like to have 50" specs in a 30" package. Not sure Rigid can do that.

You will most likely run into issues of heat, you will need to put a big heat sink on it and possibly a couple of small electric fans.

I haven't tore it open just yet but I know it has at least one electric fan.

Other parts of the circuitry would have to be upgraded also, not just the LEDs.

Get a 30" 10 watt LED system (single row) the bigger, deeper reflectors have more "throw" than the dinky little 3 or 5 watters. Might not match output with a 50" but it should be about all you could expect from a 30" bar.

In most cases an upgrade like that would involve changing circuit boards, led's, and reflectors to get the enhanced output. At that point you're changing almost the entire Light Bar.
I noticed you mentioned wanting a 30" with the output of a 50"

If you're looking at purchasing a new LED Light Bar, Our 30" OnX6 Driving/Combo is a great option!
It has more light output than some of our competitors 50" LED Light Bars. The OnX6 is the furthest projecting LED Light Bar on the market
Throw in uService® interchangeable lenses and optics, MoistureBlock™ technology, 30 Day Satisfaction Guarantee, and Lifetime Warranty. You're set with ultimate purchase protection.

    TW: $989.95

Chris 4x4 purchased our 20" OnX6 and did a write up featuring ours and a couple competitors. He breaks down some of the differences you see going into different price groups.

Your products seem amazing. I'd love to have a bar or two. Sadly in on a tight budget and the bar in question was gifted to me so no replacing it until I break it. Maybe one day I will have a Baja Designs

When the words "tight budget" come in to play. You should usually stick with what you've got, as a cheap alternative is probably more trouble than it worth 99.9% of the time
