Anyone upgrade their horn? Stock sounds a little weak, no different than a honking Honda civic I feel. Anyone have suggestions on a cheap, easy swap that requires little skill to change and is louder?

Cheap and easy? Single hella horn swap. Use the stock mounting hole and stock wiring. Remove and replace

[IMG] I can assure you the recording does not convey the true tone and level of these. It's intense

That sounds more like a Honda Civic then the Tacoma horn does.

Thanks for the clip! It has that higher pitch sound to it. Those are supposed to be better for cabin penetration.

I'm partial to the lower tones myself. I found some at a garage sale I really like but need a another set for the truck now.

That's the reason I went with a pair of both. The sharp tones have a lower frequency, while the supertones have a higher. I wanted to blend them all together for an ear piercing symphony.

I've been looking into the old Cadillac 4 tone horns. You can find them on ebay and they sound amazing.

I never really even use mine. If you have time to think about and then actually honk then you've had time to stop or react appropriately. Horns are more for the self entitled that can't fucking drive.

Eh, people here in the great state of Florida need a constant reminder to pay attention. They are constantly on their phones at stop lights, light goes green, they are just texting away and not paying attention. A few gentle taps wakes them up, and they drive again.

That shouldn't take anything extra though, you would be moe likely to piss people off with some ridiculous horn. The point I was trying to make is that in the time you take in an emergency situation to go for the horn you could have been on the brakes or steering around or paying attention to the people behind you to avoid being rear ended. If that fucker you're about to hit for being a dumbass is too consumed in something else what makes you trust him to heed the horn. I personally only trust myself and can't rely on waking someone else up.

Can you not slam the brakes and also hit the horn? That way you are slowing down and then they get a couple seconds to react once they start paying attention. I use it to remind people that texting and drifting across lanes is not ok.
