Anyone upgrade their horn?

Also an easy install! Not too expensive either. Cost me ~$120 for the set up.

 

Crimp and heat shrink connector. Connector to OEM socket with piece of heat shrink. Done.

 

Believe it or not i haven't even tried my horn yet. Now you got me wondering.

 

I yell honk honk out my window. That usually gets their attention

 

Years ago on J.C. Whitney you could get a P.A. system with pre recorded gunfire sounds. The Ma Duce wasn't exact, but close enough. Wonder if those are still made.

 

I live near Chicago, All i have to do is roll down the windows to get real gunfire sounds...
I think they had 74 shot last week, over 80 on the 4Th weekend.

 

given that i use my horn like once every 5 years it seems like a complete waste of time to me.

 

What's the difference between the round hella horns and the seashell type corkscrew piaa horns?

 

I want a VW bus or bug horn, friendly and non- threatening.

 

If I had unlimited funds, I would spring for a set of Grover Stuttertone air horns...

I have 6 volt horns from a 53 Chevy that people think are air horns. They work just fine but I wouldn't give it more then a 2 - 3 second blast. And believe me - you won't need to. I'm sure there are some on the EBay. Even the old 12 volt horns sound like a horn. Give it a listen here.
