you short the amount of engine oil commensurate with the additive. It is not good to have more oil than the recommended capacity. Crankshaft drag, oil, whipping, oil, aeration, none of that is good for your engine

Of course, don’t over fill the engine. Cera Tec goes in first and fill appropriately. Shake cans well before application.

Where are all these engines that are wearing prematurely because they aren't using this product?

Everybody is looking for "that little extra bit of protection" but it just seems like a solution in search of a problem.

    That right there.
I don't believe in snake oil. At 68 years old, I've seen a lot of 'Magic Mileage Booster Engine Juice' come and go.

can anyone answer-- if this is such a great product, why aren't OEM's using it from the factory, or putting their own branded iterations onto the market?

Amazon reviews are also quite possibly the worst source of info ever. i just recently posted one 5 star review from a guy bragging about a tire inflator-- he insisted that all tires must be pumped up to their maximum sidewall listing, not the 'crap' door sticker pressure... yes, that meant he was running 65psi in his tires instead of 32psi...

That’s the problem… lol, you don’t understand what the product is doing. It’s not an oil additive, it uses oil as a delivery system. It’s not meant to improve anything about the oil, its purpose is to fill microscopic imperfections with a ceramic coating and hence reduce friction. It’s been proven over and over to be effective. But I understand the whole thing with old dogs, new tricks or modern tech maybe

Don’t take my word for it. Give it a try yourself. It seems like everybody that doubts the product refuses to try and this is absolutely illogical. Like hidding your head in the sand. I’ve yet to meet a single person that use the product and says it’s not effective. lets see if you are the first. Of course there’s fake reviews on Amazon but 19,000… give me a break

The mind does amazing things when you want to see a particular result. I would love to see oil engineers or some good independent lab testing and results on this because from what I have seen there is zero viable test results that show any improvement over the oil it was added into. I have seen the exact same from past products like Dura Lube and ProLong which claimed the exact same thing and had a big following with so called testing results showing how good it was. Funny that when independent labs verified that there was minimal to no benefits from its use that it slowly faded away. They are still available to buy for the next sucker looking for the magic though.

Auto manufacturers are DESPERATE to squeeze every fraction of an mpg from their fleet. Why aren't they using this totally-amazing, breakthrough technology and saving literally bazillions of R&D dollars?

But I understand the whole thing with confirmation bias or naivete maybe.

I’m an engineer and I’ve built multiple engines, I would not recommend something if it does not work. Anyway, no point in arguing with those that refuse to even try something. Watch that lawnmower video that was posted, I mean even that guy with his very short term test admits the product does work…

Oh I know. I can remember when I was 16 and knew I knew I everything. Amazing how as the years go by you realize how 'stupid' you get.
OK, so where are the testimonies (with actual physical proof, such as tearing the engine down) that show engines after say 500k miles and using this snake oil are still in pristine condition?

More power. Higher mpg. Lower emissions.

If A mazon existed 30 years ago, these plugs would have had a 5.5 star rating.

Yeah they did the same test with Dura Lube back in the day, even ran a car without oil for many miles. . . . . . yeah right, who paid them and no way to know the facts/truth in the tests. I am not going to argue, but being an Engineer means nothing unless you are an expert in lubricants and independently lab test said product under controlled conditions multiple times so truth can be known. Just have seen this too many times I won't believe it until actual lab tests are done by multiple independent labs. They have had many years to do it, yet no test has proven it to be beneficial.

Yeah, and it was tested a few times in the lab and the only benefit found was to the bank account of the inventors.
