Ain't that the truth? How many reviews on a product have you seen that deserve 5 stars, where there's some idgit that gives it a 1 because 'Box it arrived in had one corner dented' or some other ridiculous BS? LOL

Imagine ceratec in the engine, diffs, tranny, add a cold air intake, pedal commander. You may never have to fill up again.:rofl::rofl:

I bought a well worn mower for my first house back in 19 none of your business.

It ate oil about as fast as gas, required a plug cleaning every couple of weeks to even start, and doubled as a form of mosquito fogger.

I kept upping the oil weight and it made no difference, just too worn. Picked up some STP at a garage sale for cheap and topped up the oil. There was a smidge of improvement. Dropped out the oil and filled it with STP, which is kinda like honey consistency wise. It actually did 'help'. I was able to go to 3 week plug cleanings, had a bit less exhaust smoke and 'felt' like more compression with the pull start.

A set of rings and cylinder hone would have done more good than anything in a can, but those parts would have cost more than I paid for the mower.:rofl:

No sites to leave reviews for the STP on though.

Um, pouring this stuff in the crankcase with the oil is, quite literally, the definition of an oil additive, whether you want to call it a "delivery system" or not. Are you sure you understand the English language?

Why aren’t OEM’s using the best tires and fitting mostly the crappiest tire there is on the cars? Or why are they using worse components or materials on said cars when there are better products?

The "best" tires cost more and don't deliver more mpg. Other components are, at a bare minimum, designed to last at least to the end of the factory warranty period. Higher quality doesn't deliver more mpg.

So, back to the relevant question... why don't auto manufacturers use this oil additive in the factory fill and then reap the rewards of higher CAFE number?

Auto manufacturers spend BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of dollars on fuel efficiency R&D. Ceratec should send them a link to their A mazon reviews to prove how good their product is.

They don't have to warranty the tires for 8 years/80k miles (or whatever the factory drivetrain warranty is). Not to mention tires are cheaper to replace than crankshaft bearings.

    Also CAFE..

so what you're really saying is if we run a motor entirely on prolong, dura lube, ceratek, and slick 50, we might actually make a time machine!

really depends on the motor oiling system.

my brz, the oil pan and fill line is well below the standard running condition of the horizontal layout. i can easily add an extra quart with little issue. it's only in extreme lateral g-forces that the oil sloshes up and can become a problem.

I suspect they use low resistance tires for CAFE testing, maybe overinflated, then bulk purchase deals, in the same sizes of course, for sales. There is testing criteria, but tire brand isn't part of it.

While there are 'almost' always better tires to be had than comes on plebeian vehicles like the Tacoma, there are also many more worse choices on the market. Many. Also keep in mind that most forums are enthusiast oriented. Tacoma specific, I'd wager 85%+ of the trucks are used as basic transportation with an occasional bag of mulch and the OE tires work just fine for those drivers.

Profit. You use the lowest cost items that comply with safety and CAFE standards while catching the publics eye. Helps the prices stay lower (yes, a Tacoma could cost more) and resulting sales volume keeps profit higher.

If you want the finer things out the door, you're gonna pay.

    Right there... Exactly.
The only way you can prove if this snake oil works or not is to have (More than one would be great) the 'test engines' (Using said snake oil) and the 'base engines' (Using regular oil) and with all things being equal.... Same engines, same maintenance, same load/driving/etc conditions.... And doing a complete engine tear-down and inspection with (And should be) a high-mileage engine(s).... And probably some other quantifiers I'm forgetting right now.
But, I'm not finding any of those as of yet. Hmmmmmm.....
