Looking for some towing help. Has anyone successfully installed helpers on their 3rd gen?

Hi. I saw you sitting over here alone, figured I’d come hang out. What are you talking about now? Is this a sway bar thing? I just took all that off and use it to grab bits of metal that fall under my work bench. Want a bit of my sandwich?

Not hellwigs, but similiar, NOT installed the correct way but similiar. Just put it on the back instead of the front.

The install took 30 minutes. Find a 6 foot straight edge, I used a thin PVC pipe I had and ran it from the left to right spring in about the same location. I then and placed my phone along the pipe to make sure the springs were on roughly the same spot on both springs.

I took it off in the fall because the cheappies were starting to rust and causing squeaking, after about 5 months. But this is with a few beach trips and some salt water spray and muddy trails/creek crossings. I'm going to sand off the surface rust, paint and re-install this spring. I don't run crazy trails and just wanted it for stiffening up the rear just a little bit since I run a few hundred pounds of camping gear or 200lbs of sand in winter.

Isn't an add a leaf only like $60 for the pair? I only did the cheap helpers since autozone is 10 minutes drive and I could put it on right away. but if you are considering $90 helpers, wouldn't an add a leaf be better?

Good to hear. Does the truck keep its same stance or does it lift the rear a little? Thanks

It'll lift it about a half inch after it settles out. Keeps the stock springs from flattening out behind the axle.
