Who uses it? What do you like about it? What do you dislike about it. And, to your knowledge, does it have a "shelf life"?

I use it from time to time. I find that I like it for the first week. Then it kinda sucks if I don't re-apply. Wipers will leave a billion microscopic droplets that look like a film on the window afte the first couple of rains. So I re-apply. Eventually I get sick of reapplying so I stop using it. And then I generally repeat the same steps six months later. Regarding shelf life, my 3 year old bottle still works fine.

Agree with above poster. I like it more for my rear window and outside mirrors.

I rain-x all but the windshield, I really like it but like the others said the wipers ruin it pretty quick

Funny. I never thought about just using it on all the other windows and skipping the windshield. Guess I'm not a genius. But That's a great idea. In short, yeah the stuff works as advertised. And doesn't "go bad" in the bottle.

I asked about the shelf life because I found a bottle mixed in with some of my old Motorcycle gear.....that was packed away in 1993.....(I used to use it to treat goggle lenses for wet conditions. Kept the lenses from fogging as bad)

I did an application to my windshield on Tuesday. I've already decided this will be the last time. I live in a rural area, and travel 25+ miles of rural interstate on my way to work, so bugs.....and constant cleaning windshields. Every time I clean the windshield, I have to buff out the rain-x now or it leaves a cloudy film. Seemed like the thing to do at the time. Oh well.

I'd maybe use a detergent to get it off. Get a soapy wash cloth (dish soap) and wipe it down. Rinse it off and then hit it with glass cleaner. Might speed up the process.

Clay bar on the windshield will get rid of it.

Big fan of rain-x. I get pissed when I haven't reapplied and its misty out. the water beads up and sheds off in a heavy fog; without it, water just coats the windshield and smears around. I love not having to have my wipers on full blast in a downpour on the highway because the water runs off quicker without the help of the wipers.

Its also great in the winter with snow/ice.

I use the yellow one (exterior) on mirrors and glass except the windshield. For the wind shield, I use the interior one (black) so the wipers has no effect on the application. Godspeed.

Windex (with ammonia) seems to take it off nicely... Just don't get it all over the trim and weather stripping

Barkeepers friend is great stuff to clean the exterior of windshields or all glass for that matter.

Side, rear window and mirrors get cleaned and waxed with whatever flavor I'm using on that paint that day.

Windshield gets cleaned 2x. Combined with fresh blades and a good washer fluid mix, it stays pretty good on the road.

I use rain x wiper fluid. Water always beads up and run off. I never have to think about reapplying because every time I use the washer fluid I am recoating the windshield. Been using it 10 years in all my cats and never have an issue with keeping bottles stocked in the garage. Also, if I remember correctly it actually can perform 10 degrees colder than standard washer fluid.

I've noticed the gray film before. one reason I don't use Rain-X on the windshield.

I use the Rain-X washer fluid too but since it stains the black paint on my wife's car so bad I run it 50/50 with the normal blue fluid. IMO it works just as good as the straight Rain-X plus an added benefit is it's a little bit cheaper to run the mix. It's funny whenever someone looks under the hood of my truck they always ask me about the fluid because when I combine them together it changes to brown rusty looking water.

I use both Rain-x and the wiper fluid. I'll never not use it. Driving highway speeds at night in light to moderate rain you can't even tell it's raining unless there is oncoming traffic or traffic lights. Rain rolls right off.
