I have always used IE for web browsing, and I switched over to Safari today. Seems a little faster. Anyone have any tips/tricks for Safari? Can you allow pop ups from certain sites, or are they all blocked, or all allowed?

I use chrome... stripped down to minimal stuff. I couldn't stand IE crashing/slowing down. Good luck!

I use safari but i don't really know any of the ins and outs yet. I've only had the Macbook pro for a month now.

I've never had a pop up from Safari in the four months I've been using it. It does seem faster than IE.

Yes, but to reply to PM's on this board in a separate window, it needs to allow pop ups. :(

I use Safari 64 bit in Snow Leopard. It cooks. As far as the benchmarking goes, it has the fastest javascript engine. As for HTML rendering, it uses WebKit just like chrome. So its probably a wash there.

Hmmm. I can reply to PMs just fine. I thought you meant like ad pop ups. I've never gotten an ad pop up on Safari. The PM box asking to open in a new window comes up though. Then it opens in a new window. :p

Ad popups typically aren't invoked by the same site. One of the thing most pop up blockers check it weather the URL in the popup is within the same domain. If not, it blocks.

Thats why you, and I, can reply to PMs but we don't get ad popups.

Browser popups are going away. People started using floating divs. Which pisses me off.
