This is my current setup, I am looking at getting an upTop mid height Truss to gain some altitude on the RTT, tent is setup to open on the drivers side. so I am unsure if itll work to cover my tailegate (typically where I prepare my food, and setup my cooler/gear). I realize that the slumberjack has 3 different setups so reguardless it would be used, but I would like the ability to hang the tarp off the back and provide some shelter from the rain to prepare meals, and when i have extended stays while camping..

might be hard to get a tall enough area to cook off the tailgate unless you add extra poles. I have one that connect to my topper and its the perfect height.

this is why i ask, I assume I can hook to the RTT crossbars, and possibly even put a pole on the bed, and taper it down the the ground behind the truck/tailgate. I can always put in my own reinforcement/grommet to put the pole where I need it..

if the crossbars are the equal hight if the truck cab you should be ok as there are two straps that would loop around your top crossbar. The polls are tall enough to create enough lift the only problem I see is the water would run into your bed. You might need to play around with the angle of the polls to divert water away from the truck

I was thinking of running the tarp as a A-frame, and anchor the sides to a tree, or down to the ground. or even 1-2 poles at the tailgate to make this higher than the tent window shade/rain cover, and single at the rear.. I can easily get myself another adjustable pole.... just didnt know if someone had already done something like this with a similar setup. I have tried with a small flat tarp, and hanging it off the window spring holders, and it worked ok... just wouldnt trust it in high winds...
