There's a number of videos that detail installing new coilover's, and most of them involve removing the brackets for the brake and ABS lines, along with releasing the upper ball joint, among other things. This video illustrates that you can replace the coils without those extra steps (only the tie rod end and sway bar end links), which would make it much easier/faster.

Anyone done it this way (go to 12:32 in the video):

Depends on the truck and amount of lift. I put the Eibach pro trucks (first notch) on my truck and only disconnected the sway bar and end links. It was a tight fit and I had to use a pry bar to push down the lower control arm a little further to pop things in. We did my friends and it was way easier to just pop out the upper ball joint. Took off the nut and a good hammer wack and it was free.

if you drop the lca down you dont have to touch anything. I've done it this way over a dozen times.

and if your about to say "Well what about the cams" mark them with a sharpie before you start. then tighten everything back up to where it was, gets it close enough to drive to the alignment shop.

sway bar links makes it easier for sure but up here with rust the only way your removing those is with a angle grinder. Dropping the lca really is the way to go.
