Honestly I've never tried waxing wheels. I've been detailing cars for a few years and I only use polish on wheels if they're chrome. I might give it a try some time

I was kinda wondering if mud and whatnot wouldn’t stick as readily.

    Wheel specific wax?

What is this anti-centripetal force additive you speak of???
    :der:

Best not to trust your regular wax to work on wheels?

Anyone who hasn't tried a big ole can of rim job is missing out. You can't do it yourself although some try. Ask your lady to give you the rim job next time youre in the garage cleaning up your wheels.

Great product name (I think!). :)

If this is a serious question about waxing wheels; I would think just about any quality wax would do. I'm not into that level of car detailing, but msny are.

MR Fix 9H Auto Ceramics Coating on all the hard to keep/get clean area's of my vehicles like the front bumper, grill, front of hood and the inside and outside of wheels. Time consuming application that, pays off on time spent scrubbing bug guts off of front end.

Edit, waxed for many years and this is far superior.

Friend of mine uses something similar on his white wheels he has on his Mazda 3. Been using it for years and swears by the stuff. I don’t know personally but his wheels look brand new and he keeps them on all winter long.

Unless your truck is parked in a museum or autoshow, who cares how clean or pristine the tires look? When was the last time you saw a car and said "wow car looks great, but man those tires are dirty..."

    Oh look, another mod....

I say that exact thing a lot. The wheels/tires make a HUGE difference in the way a vehicle looks. If the wheels look like shit then the car looks like shit (to me). It's like having a really nice suit, but you decide to wear a very old, very wrinkly t-shirt with it. You aren't looking at the nice suit now. You're looking at the ugly t-shirt.

The product OP linked isn't for tires, but to answer your question, more often than you think. I would say that about any vehicle that went through an auto car wash.

Side note, what exactly were you searching for when you found this OP:anonymous:

I was honestly looking for wheel protectant, not necessarily for my Tacoma in particular, but for my wife’s car, which gets rotor dust spots bad.

That said, there seems to be a theme with this company.

I used turtle wax ceramic spray on the wheels. Has worked out well for me and a quick spray from the pressure washer keeps the wheels clean.
