    My new truck came with the factory installed protection. Only time will tell if it holds up...

    NO!!!

    I just spent a shit ton of money ripping one off my F250 and repainting both panels and hood. Shit will ruin a paint job and they look horrible over time. Lucky I knew a paint guy who did it at cost.

    I don't know what film was put on but its a 14 year old truck so it was a kind you can't get off without damaging the paint.

    It costs too much and looks bad so I won't get it done on my trucks.

    It's a five year film and not designed to last forever. As long as it's cared for, a quality product, and applied to factory paint it should not be an issue.
