Anyone using ksp wheel spacers and losing mpg

I bought a 22 trd pro in la and drove it back to nor cal. Was getting 17-18 mpg. Added wheel spacer and now getting 13.9 mpg top. Can this be fix?

I doubt the spacer is what is causing the mpg loss, but it wouldn't hurt to see if it comes back without them on.

 

A slight reduction wouldn't be unreasonable as the truck will be slightly less aerodynamic with wheels less tucked in, but i wouldn't expect a 20% drop. Id take them off to see what happens, id suspect something else.

 

Did you put new wheels and tires on when you did the wheel spacers? Ski

 

I’d suspect it’s more along the lines of either a gas mixture (still doubtful) or your driving habits.
LA to NorCal you were probably cruising on the highway 90% of the time. Now back home you’re probably not.

I can run to work (45 miles @60) and get 17.5-19 depending on the traffic. The minute I hit highway speeds (70+) I'm in the 13-ish range, worse the faster the speed. I run a 9" wide rim and the KO2's just poke out a little. I'd give it a week and see what happens before pulling the spacers.

 

wheels and tires are still stock. Just added 1.25” spacers

Yeah, this is most likely not the spacers fault, something else is in play.

 

Been running 1.25" spacers for a year now with taller/heavier tires and no hit in mpg's.

There's gotta be something else going on.

 

Air filter clean? Check for loose plugs? Start with the simple stuff.

 

get a SR5 Valance. You should get all your mileage back and more. Maybe 30mpg.

 

I can tell you that in my experience of running 17x9 with wide tires and 1.5" Spyder spacers..There was NO loss per gallon!
You have something going on that's causing fuel mileage loss...maybe you pushed the ECT button( I think that's what it's called )..gives more power but it will lower mpg.

On the other hand after I lifted my truck and have 20x12 with 305/50r20s...I indeed lost 2 gallons per mile.
I was averaging about 19 miles before lift and wheels..now I'm around 17 consistently.

 

i added 2" spacers and it had zero affect on the mpgs
