I came up with this filler panel idea when I retrofitted my headlights. The factory plastic plate at the bottom corner has a "fin" look and is completely useless other than to take up space(2nd Gens have them too..not sure what Toyota was thinking?). In my opinion a color matched, smooth panel accentuates the headlight lines and makes them look more aggressive.

    Example:

At first I was going to 3d print a cover, but now I am looking into tooling up and having brand new smooth replacement panels injection molded. Then painted with OEM color matched paint.

    NEW protoype:

There inside was cutout and a smooth panel flushed so there will be no added thickness or clearance issues.

    FITS LIKE OEM:

    So back to the point...

-WOULD ANYONE BE INTERESTED IN A PAIR OF THESE?
    -WHAT WOULD YOU PAY?
(1 pair, complete replacements, Automotive grade paint, color matched to your paint code)

If there is enough interest, I'll cut a mold for them. Lets hear it!

    Awesome look

I”m often thinking of that useless spot too. But since you’re a light mod king. How about work your talent with some smoked out led lights there to compliment the DRLs?

I thought about lights, and its still doable. But I just felt with all the lights in the headlight it might be a little overkill..

Would this be in the $60-$75 range for the pair?

    Looks very nice!

That's why I'm asking you guys and feeling the market. I was thinking around $40-50 shipped. The painting is the most time consuming, maybe even offer a raw if someone wants to DIY, or even a color matched vinyl sticker from @rrentrop

Have you thought about bringing out the panel to make them flush with the light / grille?

I'm not wild about the body colored look with an inset panel but it might be kinda neat if it were flush.

I would pay $50 shipped with no paint. And I'd do it tomorrow too!

Never thought about that.. I'll have to mock it up and see how it looks.

Just a ballpark, give or take. More important questions is if there is any demand for this.

Flush would be better. It would make it look part of the grill surround.

I would take a DIY pair, I don't like how water traps in the stock one.

YESSS I've been wanting these since I saw them on your build page. I'm in for these and the 4runner fuse panel cover whenever they are available.
