Hey guys, I purchased these lights on Amazon and will be wiring them this weekend. The company hasn't provided much instruction for linking the DLR and turn signals to the lights. As someone with basic electrical experience, I'm looking to see if anyone has done this before and can provide some more detailed advice. I assume the fog lights are just plug-n-play as the Amazon listing states, but I've seen videos on YouTube of people having to purchase extra wires for similar lights.

So, what are best practices for wiring these things? Should I cover them in just electrical tape or shrink tubing? What can I do to make sure the connections will work and won't get messed up over time?

Any advice here would be helpful, I'm a newb lol. Thanks in advance.

Great lights! Same brand, but the ones I got can be wired into the day time running lights and the turn signals as well. Did yours also wire into them? That's the part I'm concerned about

The instructions provided show 2 extra wires. One for turn signals and one for DLR. This model does require the extra wiring which is what I'm trying to figure out

You may run into a hyperflash issue with those if you have LEDs in the fog lights and halogen in the headlight DRLs. Doesn't always happen, but sometimes when you mix LED and non-LED, you get hyperflash.

My headlights are also aftermarket and run LEDs. Hope that I don't get this issue. Thanks very much for the heads up! Will keep an eye-out

You can also do the anytime DRL fog light mod…. It’s not quite what you’re looking for but it would bypass this “hyper flashing” (I’m not sure what that is but doesn’t sound good). However, it also wouldn’t work with your turn signals. Just something to think about and it’s a simple mod that takes 6’ in. of wire, a female connector and a splice.

This is interesting. How would I go about doing this? Again, I do have LED headlights, they're not halogen so idk if I should be worried about hyperflashing

Maybe, maybe not? It’s pretty easy takes maybe 30 minutes. I’m trying to find the thread on how to do it but my cell service at work is super slow!! If you search, “Anytime Fog Light Mod” you should be able to find it but I’ll still try to find it.

Go to post #9. That’s the method I did and it’s great. I feel like even if you wire up the fogs with how you originally wanted to, this should keep them on all the time as well and give you the best of both worlds. Hope this helps!

I would also be careful drilling the plastic part of the fuse box…. I may or may not have broken a drill bit doing it and then just used a razor blade to make a notch instead

This is great, thank you!!! When you wired the fog lights to the DLR, did you wire to the fuse box, or the headlights?

I wired it through the fuse box just like the write up. I highly recommend using a wire splice and not cutting and wiring in the new wire. It’s a PITA because there’s no room in there.
