Anyone with an 02 TRD Prerunner with ABS that can verify something on their truck?

I posted a question in Tech, but thought maybe I'd have better luck here. I need to find out the ECU part number for an 02 TRD Prerunner with ABS option. If there is anyone willing to check on their truck it would be much appreciated.

I'm planning a full ABS upgrade on my non ABS truck and I need to be sure my computer will work. I'll be happy to post the DIY once I'm done.

Thanks TashcomerTexas for helping out, but the 03 and 04 has a different computer than the 02.

I got an 04 ABS computer and it won't work with my 02 because of the electronic throttle control system.

What would be the advantage of getting the abs? I wish i didn't have it on my 04

Three things that come to mind. Not flat spotting the tires in a panic stop, being able to maneuver during hard braking, not sliding out of control on wet or icy roads.
Why wouldn't you want ABS? Is there something wrong with the Tacoma ABS system?

ABS won't keep you in control on icy roads. Most of the cars you see in the ditch have it. It does cut off some braking distance in a straight line though. Same with vehicles in 4wd flying past you on ice and then doing a few rolls in the median. Tech in those cases doesn't make up for being stupid :)

ABS takes longer on hard stops on dirt/gravel, a bump can cause ABS to not work right. Odd but true. I have 1 intersection in town that has a bump in the normal stopping area before it. Every vehicle I've had with ABS at that 1 intersection takes longer to stop than it does everywhere else. No panic stops, just stopping for a light. Hit the bump and ABS shits the bed. Every non-abs vehicle doesn't show a change. But again it's at 1 specific point, it's just very predictable at that point.

It's also 1 more thing to go wrong. My first squad had a screwed up ABS system. Doing an ABS turn you had a 50/50 chance of it working right, or out of the corner of your eye you would see the 'abs' light flash on a split second before you heard tire squealing and a tree approaching from an odd angle. It went into the shop a LOT for that problem, always returned as no problem. The end result you always drove as if you were about to die, so reliable in that aspect, not so much for whoever got the car after me

Other than that, no reason to not have it.

^This, I have an 02 preunner but no ABS and I prefer it that way in the dirt too. Sucks when you expect brakes and all you get is vibration

I understand ABS doesn't work well in the dirt. I have a disable switch on my 4x4 for this reason. It's no fun when ABS keeps cycling when you're trying to stop on a steep incline and can't stop.
As far as on the street, I prefer to have it. Keeps steering control in the event of panic braking. I don't like the sliding straight even though I turned to avoid something that occurs when the brakes lock up.
Some may say "don't lock the brakes" "learn to modulate" That's great advice, but locking them up can happen, especially in wet conditions.

I can't imagine Toyota ABS being so poorly functioning and unreliable that it's better not to have. Unless anyone else wants to talk me out of it. I'd still like to verify what computer works with ABS.
