I don’t wear eyeglasses, but have noticed some ghosting on sunny days from the left, side window and windshield that was just a little distracting while wearing regular cheap UV protection sunglasses on several occasions while driving my Tacoma.

It’s usually cloudy in this part of the country, so it doesn’t happen often.

I’ve noticed the weird ghosting or streaking effect in the windshield on other new vehicles that I’ve owned.

I’d suggest trying Polarized (restrict the vibrations of a transverse wave of light) sunglasses which might eliminate glare and reduce the ghosting effect.

When I was young, I used to buy expensive sunglasses for driving and skiing. Everything looked so nice and clear thru a set of good sunglasses, but it was always sad when they broke due to an active lifestyle!

    Thanks for posting this OP.

A new and better pair of sunglasses is in order for purchase. Something to leave in the truck.

I have worn glasses since I was 4yrs old and have had many problems with vision in my life. I have had similar problems with a few different vehicles. I have found that the problem with my eyes and it may be others as well only happens when I have on glasses with polarized lenses. I have many different glasses, sunglasses, and safety glasses all prescription but it only seems to happen when I have on my polarized ones. It doesnt bother me much I havent really cared to look into it. I honestly assumed it had something to do UV protected glass.

Yes, maybe it’s just the cheap sunglasses I have, as that was what I was wearing when I noticed the weird visual disturbance. I read that Polarized can make it difficult to read certain LCD and info screens.

    Something to look into.

Thanks everyonefor the comments and suggestions... During the daytime I wear Polarized Ray Bans and they all but eliminate the ghosting. Its primarily at night time where it becomes a real issue for me :-/

Has anyone found a solution for this? I have a '19 with the exact same issue. If i look through the top 30-40% of the windshield at night every light has a double right above it. Im 6'1 and basically have to slouch to get rid of it.
