Anyone with the 2.7L run E load rated tires? How bad will it be?

Well, I appreciate your reminder and costing me $364 more. Switching tires on Tuesday. What's weird is I know better, but I still do dumb things. I'm going with the Toyos, but I'll test the new Coopers off road tomorrow anyway.

Update - getting these mounted on some new wheels this week. Toyo AT3 265/70/17 E. I'll have to update to let you know how the ride is, decided to go with the E load for extra longevity and life and durability off-road since I do plan to go through some sketchy logging roads with sharp rocks. Hope the highway acceleration isn't to the point where I can't even get up to speed. I'll update soon :)

I promise you, you're gonna feel those. Hell yesterday I was driving up a hardly noticeable incline floored doing only 62 against the strong wind.

I’ve gone back and forth between E-range and non E-range several times and the only noticeable difference I’ve ever had was accelerating from a stop and cornering. Every other driving scenario was an unnoticeable difference.

ETA: This was mostly with V6 at elevation/mountains and 2.7L at sea level.

Very noticeable on my V6,,, I can't see adding these to the already underpowered i4.

I am running new 265/70r17 in XL today. Tomorrow I'll in be back in the same size just E rated.

Yes my truck is a stock engine and axle ratio but with a lift, sliders, skids, RTT, probably close to 5500ish pounds I'm guessing daily driving. Picture a brick made of lead in your mind.

I'm sure. I'm of the camp that the weight while important is not going to affect performance (acceleration, braking) as much as the size.

And I can say that around town the lighter tire sidewall does feel and sound way better than an E rated sidewall.

Oof, yeah I bet all that added weight doesn't help. I'll be mostly riding around empty 90% of the time, so I should be okay.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
After running 2 sets of 34X11.5 Wildpeaks in E range, never again. Even with the V6 and armor.. had to run at ~28psi for daily. The ride quality going down to an D or C is very noticeable. The Mickey Thompson Baja MT in D range is much more comfortable than the Wildpeak AT3W in E range. Roughness, acceleration and braking. Tire weight is huge on performance. I am supercharged and regeared as well. Drive several miles on gravel every day. I'd argue that people that do not notice a difference are not all that in tune with the vehicle. Just my 2 pennies.
I was camping outside of Steamboat CO. a few years back. Several miles deep on a rough trail to access a trailhead for backpacking trip. Right before hitting the trail the next morning I noticed my tire was low. Got back to the truck after a week out and someone had come and mounted their spare on my truck, assuming I did not have one since it was under the topper. Felt a little violated but it was definitely a good piece of trail karma. Load Range E taken out by a small nail.
New tires have come a long way. I think the lighter ranges D and C are probably tougher than the E ranges of the past. Also, you can get many ATs in 55K mi warranties.

You will feel it, not about getting up to highway speed its maintaining it truck will struggle.

Currently, even in stock, I don't use cruise control. If I set it to 80, the truck will want to gear hunt between 4th and 5th to speed up and the adaptive cruise makes it even more annoying.

Anecdotally, I’ve had the exact opposite experience. Only noticeable off the line, so-to-speak.

Those tires look good, you'll be fine. I am running 285 75 16 e-load MT on my 2.7 MT.

Im only speaking from experience I have a 2.7 that is re geared with a tune and header all stuff that helps lack of power. You went taller effected already crappy ratio, heavier and wider plus extra rolling resistance from a wider all terrain. 6th will only be useable downhill or flat with no wind and likely the truck will bounce between 4-5th on the highway even not using cruise. My 265/75/16 at3 4s wheel and tire combo is 59lbs which is on the light side and I am swapping to 235/85/16’s this Friday for same height just thinner. Everyone has a different driving style and what is “acceptable” it’s also the terrain where you live. 5 speed you would have no issue, the auto the difference. Around town you won’t notice much change it’s at highway speeds 65+ the truck will struggle.

Luckily I mostly drive in the country and city, I'm gonna look at a OTT tune. I messaged the guy, it's only $450 and if I plan to stay around 265/70 tires for the life of the truck it might be worth it. Gonna first get them mounted and see how bad it is.

Country and city will be just fine it’s highway speeds where you will feel the difference. If I was bone stock keeping it that way I would still get a tune. I’ve had both kd and ott, both were upgrades I prefer ott it is a little more refined. Get a tune it changes the way the truck drives completely tires or not I would recommend a tune regardless especially the tune is good now but I know the guys at OTT just got some additional tools to pick up some more low/mid range in the 2.7 that will be upcoming.

Yeah I'll likely get the tune in the next month or two. The guys about 4 hours away from me and said it'll cost me $450. I hated the truck in stock form, I'm thinking the bigger tires might actually help around town but will be worse on the freeway.
