Lots of questions here’s your answers

    2.7? No.
    Load E? No.
    Is E puncture proof? no.
    “C is backordered” Yes.

the weight is farther out on E.

E was invented for the purpose of a 2500HD towing a house. Not a small light pickup with a low tow rating.

    Kenda 35 comes in D. That’s what I got.
    E is stiffer.

FWIW tires vary so much from model to model. For example the new 255/85/16 ATW4’s are load range C yet weigh 58lbs, which is more than some load range E models.

A tune will help but mostly around town, problem on the highway is not enough gear, look at what kind of rpms a stock 5 speed 2.7 turns at highway speeds compared to these 6 speed autos. That is why it dances so much on the highway 5th bogs not enough rpm kick down to 4th which is 1000 rpms up, too high shifts back to 5th too low back to 4th too high back and forth. Putting bigger, wider, heavier tire does not help the situation or the gearing but thats the trade off, i think being 2wd less weight and a hair less rolling resistance helps a little vs a 4wd truck. These are my highway rpms in 6th being regeared which helps tremendously, if i was you especially being 2wd and only having to do 1 axle i would regear the truck. Drive the truck looks great enjoy it, if it bothers you in a few months can always get a built ecgs 3rd member to throw in.

Yeah don't think I'll regear, anytime soon anyway. If anything I'll do an OTT. It's been fine for me though, it's slow but it was slow in stock form personally feels about the same, highway is a bit slower.

Man I went through this whole song and dance when I went up in size from the stock tires. Bottom line for me, and it sounds like its where you ended up too, is that the 2.7 is slow as sh*t to begin with. Losing a little pickup is 100% worth the upgraded look and capability of a larger more aggressive tire. MPG? Yeah it stings a little, but again not a big enough deal to not do it. I went with the original duratrac in 265/75/16 because it was one of the only aggressive AT tire offered in a C rating which was much lighter than the E rated monsters in category. Looks like you got it figured out though! Nice work. 2.7 gang
