    As the title states basically.

I am on my 2nd third gen and due to some life progressions (kid, wife who decided she doesn’t want to drive stick) the Tacoma has been parked more than I’d like.

I’m looking for someone who may have done this jump?
The ranger raptor is basically what I wanted the new Tacoma to be, unfortunately with the runaway 66k msrp and a 4 banger it isn’t quite my cup of tea but the ranger seems to check every box on paper …

curious if anyone made this switch here or has driven the new(ish) ford.

The manual transmission is the main reason I plan on keeping this truck for a while. If it got totalled tomorrow and I had to get a new replacement the Ranger Raptor would be high on my short list.

I saw one the other day, and man do they look Koo! I’m just too old n cheap to get in to the alleged speciality models with the ridiculous markups from any brand. I’m not poo-poo’n anyone that does, it’s just not for me.

Overall, the Rangers are pretty darn nice, I’ve got a couple of friends with them, and my company F150’s interior and features are much much further ahead. The Tacomas get no love in that department.
I love my Tacoma, but will definitely shop more next time, but it’ll be a long time as my miles are low and not my DD.

I haven't been inclined to sit in or purchase a Ford Ranger. The base F150 Raptors with 35's ride nice and have really comfortable seats, but the dealer markups aren't worth the squeeze imo.

Once u get to 50k u r now in full size $$$ too... if u shop smart.

    https://www.bommaritoford.com/new-Hazelwood-2024-Ford-F+150-XLT-1FTFW3L54RKF60994

50k, 24 F150 XLT 4x4, Crew Cab. 5.0L Coyote v8... they have multiples and special financing.

I know not everyone wants or needs a full size truck. I don't. The F150 wouldn't even fit in my garage. But way more value, room, and... V8 NOISES!!! Just saying there r options.

Does the Ranger Raptor have more backseat room than a 3rd gen that I was unaware of?

From a longevity stand point, I can’t see the current ranger outlasting a third gen

Well, I had a 5th gen ranger, it was a turd. The 6th gen ranger is nearly the same as the 5th. Traded it it in on the 3rd gen taco and have been pretty happy with it.

    Ranger Raptor, sorry TW
You don’t have to leave TW, a guy here told me once when I was looking full size that he hasn’t had a Tacoma in 10 years but we all love trucks and can all get along still (maybe?)
It’s been 7 months since I sold my Tacoma and still come here. I like to read how guys are liking their 4G, it wasn’t for me but I still love Tacoma trucks. I regret nothing with my RR and after getting the Ford Performance tune I’m even more stoked. Ask any questions you may have about it.

I just can’t fit more than 220” in my garage. And I don’t park my shit outside. But yea the full size trucks come with their own ups and downs
