Yea mine was pretty much garbage. Aftermarket HU and a small sub fixed it though.

I just ordered from Crutchfield a Pioneer DEH-6300UB receiver with Metra ASWC Auto Sensing Steering Wheel Cntrl Intrfc (Crutchfield's website said 2 different steering adapters work. I found out it is best to call. I almost ordered the wrong one. The customer service agent helped find the correct one for the Tacoma).

Part # 120ASWC (depends on which radio you order, so call and ask which one you need)

If you are a Bank of America customer you can get 4% cash back with the add it up program. You have to sign in to the add it up program(add your BOA debit & or credit card to the program), find the crutchfield link & go to the crutchfield website through the add it up program.

    ^^^ Nice ^^^
The volume on my non-jbl in my 06 volume needed to be maxed so I finally swapped it out for a $100 HU from Crutchfield. What a difference. Best mod so far & got IPOD controls, aux, and USB.

It sucks enough for thieves/junkies to get nothing trying to pawn it but doesn't suck too much to perform it's primary function and then sucks totally for crank it up contests and sucks enough to not blow out the rest of my hearing and it doesn't suck as much as the voodoo oem ones doing all their flaky shit. There ya go, it's a tradeoff and your run-on sentence requirements have been met once again.

The stock unit get plenty loud for me but, the sound sucks. Will be replacing everything soon and adding a sub.
