Can you tell me what that means? I never been good with abreviations. I don't even know how to spell that word right.

I use my skids and sliders all the time. :anonymous: :bikewhoops: Winch and HiLift jack once or twice each. That doesn’t count the time I pulled the lawn tractor out of the ditch with the winch, or pulled out fence posts with the HiLift.

A lot of people have snorkels on their trucks, yet very few ever post pictures of them being used. Most of the pictures you see with a snorkel are on dirt or pavement, not under water. If you throwing money at a truck and want to be cool like everyone else, you got to have a snorkel. That's all I mean.

my cheapie budget upgrade was refinishing my stock steelies with their peeling overcoat. cleaned them, Sanded them down a slight bit, and painted them all with wheel paint. 20 bucks and 4 hours later the truck looks 10x better

    Snorkle has multiple purposes.
I don't want to get into the cleaner air crap cus I don't care about that. I have an air filter.

The most basic example of snorkel use is accidental water suction into the intake. Most people picture the hood of the truck fully submerged, but that's only one rare scenario.
Friend of mine in a second gen crossed a relatively low water level, but created a wave that came up into the wheel well and hydrolocked his motor. Depending on how fast you go through water , it doesn't need to be DEEP to hydrolock the motor. The stock intake is right over the wheel well, so it doesn't take much to get water there.

I don't ever plan on submerging the truck up to the hood (happened once) but any water up to my door, I think it's worth the piece of mind.
Depending how much mudd wheeling/water you do you can actually just check your air box and see what it looks like. Mine used to have lots of dry mud and "running water like type splashing".

It wouldn't be my first mod though

Snorkels aren't primarily for water. They're actually for dust.

    4 run, 2 don't
    Both wrong.

Keep dust/dirt out of your air filter.

Especially useful when you're running with multiple people and you're not the first in line.

@eon_blue since you love correcting people on the use of a snorkel.

Well we may as well keep the "Snorkels are for dust" train going. If you ever visit Knolls, UT then you know!
