... to help me get across the country with the severe weather coming?

I'll be driving from Washington DC to Santa Fe, NM in a few days and was wondering if there is anything I should know about my 2011 4x4 TRD offroad that would be beneficial/detrimental to my drive with that severe weather coming our way.

I do not have a winch (yet) and I'm on the original tires it came with.

Any bits of advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I would pick up a set of tire chains, not because you will need then, but because some states require you to have them in the winter our you get a ticket. I always have a tow strap too. And then the in cab essentials, flashlight, warm clothes, extra food and water. The usual winter stuff.

    Thanks,

I didn't think of the chains...
I have the other stuff you mentioned already.

I was hoping to get an exhaust lift but that didn't work out (maybe next year).

If the Interstate is closed don't try back roads. Interstates are always the first thing to open up.
