I drew this up for 0.32" holes, and I told myself I should run it slower at like 40ipm or so.

For 0.40" and up to 0.75" I'll run my holes at 45ipm for 3/16" mild.

Came in undersized by .0040"



That's still within tolerance though cause 1. it's for my personal stool and 2. the bolt diameter is 0.3095" +/- .0005".

 

Clearly not gunna be accurate enough. Time for a mill.

 

You're right, time to scrap this thing and start over.

Damn, prices went up for you guys? Literally earlier this morning a buddy in Canada told me he's having to spend $256 for a sheet of 11 gauge.

It was about $130 - 140 here when I got some a few months ago.

 

I am about two hours from the border so a lot of their sheet and tubing comes from behind the maple curtain. I paid $154 last month for the same sheet.

It shouldn't be possible really, so maybe it's just coincidental.

I updated to the newest Firecontrol (I was forced to). Running the same exact programs, even one I just did a few days ago before the update, all cut like shit now.

Firecontrol does not, and cannot alter how a plasma cutter cuts with the exception of - pierce delay, cut height, pierce height, and cut speed.

We all know this.

Having said that, I ran previously saved programs on 11 gauge, another program on 10 gauge, and one more on 16 gauge. My cuts are, and have always been dialed to a T.

Issue? 16 gauge, 11 gauge, and even 10 gauge all now cut like shit. Massive dross, even after switching consumables. Cut speeds show their respective speed as my program was made to run, and physically measuring my torch height reveals it is still at the correct cut height.

So I'll need to waste time and material doing a ton of test cuts all over again on each material thickness

 

hopefully you find the issue quickly. Since the fire control upgrade was the only thing that changed, I would be bugging the hell out of langmuir to find a way to step back a version to see if it clears up

So, I have been running 21.1.5 for the longest.

I ran this on my Lenovo Yoga, on both my old Crossfire as well as my Crossfire Pro. Two tables, same laptop, same version.

Just yesterday I fired up my setup to cut something and I kept getting the Child Error process - it has to do with Firecontrol and incompatibility with Ryzen U processors which is what I run.

Why am I getting the error suddenly? Who knows. I tried every way to fix, uninstall, reinstall, etc to no avail. This is what forced me to install the latest version of Firecontrol.

I also went through uninstalling and reinstalling this newest version, all while always deleting the .Firecontrol folder found under Users and such, all to no avail.

I can take a program, that cut perfectly two days ago, and run it today and get shit results while everything is identical to two days ago, with the exception of the Firecontrol version.

 

Spitballing here, but I assume you aren’t using Smart Voltage. I run 131 on 11 Gauge. I have to manually set it on Firecontrol. Did it reset to a default voltage?

 

I always use Smartvoltage, always have, with success.

 

Wife is on her way home so, I think I'll dig out one of my other laptops and put Firecontrol 21.1.5 on it being Intel with Quadro graphics.

See if running a program that cut like shit earlier today cuts better or not.

In my case, it's always been a mechanical issue. Loose stepper, crap on the L.rails, or a coms issue with my wireless controller.

Well I already cleaned off the dross from the shit cuts.

Running an identical program on a different laptop revealed clean cuts.



The little it had flicked off easily with a finger nail.





Trust me, it's definitely not that. I would've rectified those and not even have a reason to post.

 

Firecontrol version 24 something gives me terrible cuts.

Firecontrol 21.1.5 has given me excellent cuts for +2 years, and now again on a different computer.
