Have the same hood.. except in gloss black.

Think it was $230 from my local supplier; pretty sweet deal, came with about 10 cover plates, safety glasses and some really nice welding/work gloves.

3600# axle. Subtract 600# for the material weight and you will have a true weight capacity. Most trailer manufacturers list the entire capacity of the axle as the trailer capacity. It is not quite true, but it can be close.

It's either get it done right with a real bender or do a miter joint. Anything else will both look terrible and not be structurally sound.

I learned to do stick, one hand, in the field. try laying bead on top of bead instead of gaping them so far apart on each pass.
You mess with your settings between each pass to see what works better for that thickness of plate?

I'm in need of some advice and figured this might be the place to get some. I've been learning to weld at a local technical college for a year and a half now. I'll graduate in May with an Associates after I finish my last 2 classes. I am working on 6" pipe in the 6G position with a 6010 open butt root and TIG root/hot pass both with 7018 fill and cap.
I've also tried a few pieces of 3" pipe in 6G TIG all the way out. I haven't quite mastered any of them. My 6010 is decent but my TIG root is hit or miss. I'm at the point now where I'm starting to worry about getting a job in a few months. I know I won't be where I want to be when I graduate so I would really like to go somewhere that would be willing to train me. I know the money might be better doing construction contracts with a union but the idea of going job to job every few years doesn't appeal to me. I want to be able to weld at a nuclear standard. Hopefully TIG pipe and exotic metals. I know I have the ability but this tech school isn't going to get me there. What would you guys do if you were in my shoes?
