I had this old Harbor Freight wheel laying around. Oddly enough it is the same bolt pattern.

I cut out the center, using the existing weld valley as a guide for the plasma cutter.

I cleaned up the new wheel center and bolted it to the bad wheel center. I just eyeballed it the best I could. Using the new wheel center as a circle template.

    Turned out fairly decent.

I did have some fairy large gaps. As the old timers say "If I can step across it, I can bridge it!"

She ain't the prettiest, but it's solid.

I finally finished the 63 swap with the shock relocation with new shock towers (thanks BAMF) and axle tabs. I'd have paid a good amount for a plasma cutter getting the old mounts and tabs off. it's not going anywhere and rides great.

Never heard of them. Side business of some Lincoln Employees ??

Just which Lincoln Welder Model do you have ??

Does it have the connection for the gas solenoid?

The plumbing for the shielding Gas?

I did one the end user never picked it up been a few years now.

    I dunno?

As cheap as the newer MIG units are these days, I'd think you would better off getting a second unit.

That flux core machine would be handy to keep available for outside work.

I really like the new HF mig machines and the price is awesome!

I just looked at the stats on that unit. I don't think you would gain anything by converting a 110volt machine to use gas.

That weld pak would be great to run off a generator for emergency remote repairs.

Yeah I spent what, $500 for my main machine and it welds everything I need. Though you can get a MIG welder for about $350.

You are not going to gain anything unless the metal is very thin. If you use 75/25 on a weldpak 100 you will have very limited penetration, you really need straight CO2 for penetration and if you use straight CO2 it will be dirty enough you might as well just use the gasless wire.

I would advise trying to at least find a 230 volt input machine because you will notice a huge difference in weld-ability with it. Not saying the 115 volt machines wont work, just saying they limit the heck out of you.

Like said above, a 240 volt machine is a game changer!

My 1st machine was a 120volt flux core unit. I was getting so much work, I treated myself to a 240 volt MIG unit.

Even being as novice as I was, the smoothness was readily noticable.

I sold that 120 volt unit shortly after.

I've never missed it. I especially dont miss the weld spatter and hot BB's!

I can weld sheet metal just fine.

Friend of mine bought his wife a Taco recently. He asked if I could make her a front plate. It has a few flaws I need to correct, and I may add her name, but looks pretty good.

    16 gauge, 30 amps, 2800mm/sec, 50psi.

The cutouts attached to an old license plate would be cool too:

Yeah, I am just starting to get where I can make my own stuff. Getting all the settings correct in the post processing (generating the G-Code) has been my challenge. I am pretty good at designing stuff in Fusion 360, but getting it cut decent is my struggle.

With steel prices so high, trial and error can be expensive.

New welding hood, who dis -

Bought a second one so I can keep one at home and one at work.

The 3350 will stay at home since it has shades 5-13 which not only aids in welding, but plasma cutting as well.

The 1740 will stay at work because it only has shades 9-13 which is enough for MIG and TIG. That and I don't require an exterior grind button and it's lighter for all day use.

Some of the stuff I made today -
