So I tried two more bottles and they're a no-go.

Need to bevel the part that flips the bottle cap and in order to do that properly, I need one of those narrow belt sanders.

Thinking I'll grab one at Harbor Freight tomorrow so I can knock out the first few that are sold already and get the rest done afterward. I used 12 gauge steel as I wanted something that won't bend easily, but it's too thick to get under the bottle cap.

Went to the kitchen to check my other openers and all of them have that bevel.

If you drink enough, you just find yourself sweeping it up with all the metal flakes and dust already covering the ground :anonymous:

Can you code in an " egg tooth" where the bevel is? Just need something more pointed than the flat part of the bottle opener.

One is fine, I would've just preferred to bevel it first.

That way if I fuck it up it's on me.

After that, I might even want to try heat treating it to harden it a bit.

Bro we're all fabricators here. Sell it to me as is and if I fuck it up it's on me lol.

Give me $40 bucks worth and we'll call it good.

    :fistbump:

I just try to stick with the "assume he/she doesn't even have an angle grinder" approach IE people that buy stuff from me locally or on here from other threads

But you got it, I can wrap up a box now and ship out tomorrow!

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Why not make o2 sensor bungs with just the center holes then the end user can drill and tap for m8 x1.25 studs?

don't be so glum about it. success is rarely measured in doing different things. many times it's just being really good at one thing!

was just talking to my neighbor about the local fireworks store guy that inadvertently created an empire-- the neighbor had a chance to talk with him a while back. he started off with just 1 store. then came a warehouse. then "i've got all this product, i should have a few more stores..." suddenly, he's renting out every billboard in a 50 mile radius for 10+ locations that are ran year-round.

Harbor freight has their cordless Hercules 20v die grinder on sale this week. Going by memory, I think the add said by a battery and charger and the tool is free.

I have a die grinder, but for this particular deal I was looking to get that little belt sander setup. The really narrow one. 15% discount coupon available

    Or bad idea?

I have a nice Champion bit for my die grinder but it quickly takes metal off, and slowing it down makes it grab the metal (and pulls your hand).

It's 12 gauge though, not thick enough to tape for anything.
