Just got home from HB with recommended tools. As much as I got my eyes set on that lil Milwaukee angle grinder, that'll have to wait for another day. I'm feeling good about the 4.5 vs something smaller because of the cut I kinda messed up on. I did end up cutting into the original bungs so I'll have to see about leveling the whole thing out to get a proper flush seating of the sensor.20240229_181642.jpg

    I just hope I don't f this up!

A couple of rear window decals...
Worst case scenario, you have to cut the original bung out and have a good welder put in a new one that doesn't suck ass...

Haha, I wish. And ya can build me a whole exhaust too to replace what I got now..
    20240226_141337.jpg

I wanna delete all of what I have circled and dump it right after the muffler but before the rear axle.

That would probably cost a couple cases :cheers:

    Well here's the update..

I wasn't liking how the sensor was sitting so I ended up taking @soundman98 advice and grinded the whole SOB down to the straight pipe and I must say it's looking a whole lot nicer and cleaner now...
    20240229_201921.jpg 20240229_202234.jpg

So now all I'll have to do is get the bung(which I already have) welded onto this pipe. I'm actually thinking, I don't need the 2 holes where the studs screw into the pipe so those could be closed off since the bung is thick enough and can hold the studs anyways. Here's what it would look like...
    20240229_210927.jpg

So obviously now the bung doesn't sit flush with the pipe so now my next question to you guys...
Would you suggest having this bung welded on? Orrr could I DIY this by putting a good amount of JB weld or something better that you guys would suggest?

This bung does seem a bit thick but it's a HUGE improvement compared to how it was before...
    20240229_213021.jpg

I do have another bung that's maybe slightly less than half the thickness that I could use instead.

So what you guys think? Weld or JB Weld?

So like @soundman98 said, most of the cost would have been the prep work(cutting & grinding). So with all of that done, what would you say cost of just the weld would be now?

I think I do want to plug those 2 holes up though with some steel stick

Welding the flange on there would seal off those holes

Just find a buddy nearby, quick easy job

Just stop by any welding shop. They got peeps that will weld that bung on with ease.

You have done all the hard work already.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Labor rates Vary depending on the location.

To me just cutting the old one off and putting the new one on is the fastest way.

Sometimes experiments just don't go your way. I have a project where I can't get a hand in to access the clutch for my winch. I wanted to weld a 1/2" adapter to it so I can use a half inch extension and t handle to activate the clutch. I saw the bottom part was magnetic but the handle wasn't and it was apparent why when I cut it. Looks like steel pressed into cheap aluminum. So I tried to expose as much steel as I could, tried a tack and it didn't stick. So then I tried to build the weld up on the steel portion and completely melted the aluminum.

Win some and lose some. If I had another handle to burn through I believe it could be done if I exposed more steel rod higher up, and if it was very well temp controlled in a process like TIG.

Quick question. I bought a little harbor frieght chicago co fluxcore 125. I know Its just a cheap unit, I bought it used for 50 bucks. But would this thing be capable of doing the dirt king or any other weld on spindle gusset? I plan on buying a primeweld mig 180 in a few months for a bigger project I have coming up but im trying to hold off on that for now.

    No.

    No, no, no!

    Please sell that unit.

These have ruined more people from wanting to weld than any other welder.

I'm a skilled MIG welder. It takes hours to manage to get a decent weld.

It will take you a half hour to get decent welds with any other welder.

That welder for fixing bar stools then gobbing paint over the welds.

You're the guy that came in asking for advice, and received multiple replies from several people.

Then stated you were gonna buy a MIG180 (last month).

No, that welder is trash. That $50 was better spent on going out to dinner or buying a video game or filling up your tank

I can only think of needing to braze something for the bathroom (pipe) but flux?

You mentioned Dirt King, etc which was on the opposite end of "cheap".

Anyway, these guys will help ya out.
