Believe the reason easy outs reason for existence is broken off bolts. They dont always work but worth a try. But before trying spray broken bolt with pb blaster several times over the course of a day or two and give it a go.

 

Just because something is made for a purpose doesn't mean it works. Rather then waste money on an easy out kit buy a drill/tap for $5 and be done with it. The tap can also be used to chase the other threads as they'll most likely need.

 

Depends on the application. A drill and tap would make the existing hole over sized. A generous application of PB and an easyout-probably a better answer for parts that require it.

 

Worked fine on one of my bolts. Easy outs usually only work on bolts that are only just barely stuck. Skid bolts tend to rust and gall up for some reason, I tried it on mine cause I had a set already, no dice. If there isn't enough tread to re tap after you drill it out you can just use a larger bolt, there's plenty left.

Yes this is the correct plug for your application.

Have you purchased your welder yet and are you going to a building centre or an actual Welding suppply store for your purchase??

I suggest pricing it out at an actual welding supplier who sells the gas consumables as there's always packages they'll offer to suite your needs. (i.e. Gas bottle-purchase/rent, spool gun for aluminum, wire etc...)

Wth regards to building centres you may get a good deal on a welder, however the gas consumables and accessories may cost you full price.

check out Amazon... i bought my hobart 210 there. does both 110 and 220
rented a huge 125 cylinder from a local welding place for 7.00 a month and 60/fill 'till i can get my hands on a customer bottle for a reasonable price.
the local praxair tried to price me out to 285 for the tank.... sorry but no.
check out dezertrangers if your in so cal, theres a shop owner who sells tanks around 120$ each

My 211i is pretty sweet with the whole shebang. Got the tig torch and foot pedal, as well as the spool gun for mine all wrapped on a custom dual cylinder cart I built.

 

Not yet. My dads going half on it so im waiting to make sure i get the right one. Im now looking at the millermatic 211 that has the dual plugs

Check out the thermal arc, it has slightly better numbers then the 211 and also has dual input, plus if you ever want tig you can run it off the same machine.

 

Except Hobart has cheaper internals. More plastic, less metal. Both are good machines, but one might last 30 years longer

I agree but this is not for a business, welding all day every day I would say Miller hands down. Welding once every 3 months as a project or hobby and Hobart (and others) will work just fine
