    youre not going to be getting any sort of good looking welds if youre using an 85A welder. just stop and take it to a shop before you gum everything up and cost yourself even more money at the shop

    Looks like those are bolt ons? If so why weld them and it shouldn't really matter how the welds are.

    this is the manipulation i use on horizontal welds, but i found it works good on flat welds as well.

    wish i had some pics of welds ive done like this, but they look damn good.

    Yes, they are bolt on an would probably be fine without welding. I know my welds suck and I have a less than adequate welder but I have to learn somehow. Oddly enough, the welds on the bottom of the flange (no pics) are even, smooth and flat. It was the vertical welds that owned me.

    I dont know that much lol. Just have worked all different types of jobs.
    this is my 10th yr welding/fitting and have had 13 welding jobs lol oooops. But most was with zachry and shaw group tigging pipe/tubes on boilers

    If they're bolt on I wouldn't worry about the welds. The only force applied is up.

    Exactly. And the leading edge of the applied force (bottom of the flange) is where my best welds are.

    It appears that the weld between your frame plates and tube are too cold as well. Proceed with caution

    Is your polarity set right? Usually with flux core your ground should be negative.
