When I was looking for mine everything I found was either parts or priced almost new. I looked multiple times everyday for a few months, along with plasma cutters. I just ended up going new, why take the chance on a used machine just to save 1or 200 on a $1000+ machine.

I'd say get something on there ASAP before you destroy your radiator.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
That's a leaf spring slider box. Its suppose to give you "more travel" without over extending your springs and replaces the shackles. There are mixed reviews on them.

Things must be diff in the south. Because at B&R offroad where i use work. We put these on baja crawlers for Rick Hendrick jeep so the rear axle could twist during cornering big ass rocks

Just replacing the shackles you would still need to solid mount the front hanger.

Genious idea no doubt. However, function hindering. These move forward and back. A shackle moved forward, back, up and down. A shackle would provide further movement it appears.

In other news, I finished up the skid plates on my Retrieval truck today. Now I can ride the ruts in confidence when I'm chasing down race vehicles.

I got to work and was told I need to pass a AWS 3G weld test today. I don't think I've welded 3G more than 5 minutes in my life.

Gmaw. I have to do a 3G root in 3/8" plate with a backing plate. That's about all I know until I get back from lunch.

Walk in there, drop your trousers, lay down the most drop fuckin' dead sexy tig welds they've ever seen, and forget about the rest.
Since you already work there, that ain't gonna work.
I've been fortunate enough to always start out with tig when testing for a new job. Never have had to take their other pre-employment weld tests.

Is there a functionality benifit to dropping it? I just wanted to follow stock lines as close as possible

When the frame flexes you won't hurt your fenders.

I ended up not needing to test today because the power went out right after lunch and we all went home. Spent my afternoon picking up a free oxy acet torch setup, and looking at a bigger shop to move into.

I didn't have to do a pre-employment weld test. The welding manager just looked at the bumpers on my truck that I welded and said I was good. That's all flat or horizontal welding though.
