Found a Millermatic 210 w/aluminum spool gun for about $1100, almost brand new. No gas bottle. I could probably get the price down a little. Would this be a good deal??

If im not mistaken the 210 Is a little larger, it has wheels and a handle built in? We have a few at tech and seem to be very nice machines.

It's not really rated any higher they both just do 3/8th in one pass and the 211 is more compact.

I wouldn't pay over 800.00 for that without a bottle just go with a low ball and try and meet in the middle

For a 210 that's a good deal. The bigger 210 is rated at the same power as the smaller 211, but has higher duty ratings. Its designed for a light fab shop vs a weekend welder. The spool gun is what makes it a good deal though. What model spool gun? There's a cheap one and a more expensive one.

Im going to talk to the guy tomorrow, ill find out the exact specs and report back here. Im trying to get some fab stuff together before I get out of college. My instructor said he would sell me a filled bottle cheap. I would have to go to the local welders supply to get the gas for alum.

I had to upgrade my bottle size and the guy at Praxair just charged me for the swap/refill.

    SCORE
    Tanks aint cheap!
Rather than getting larger tanks(I run 150's) I just have 2 tanks. Keep one full so that when the one runs out I just swap and then refill the empty. I've ran out of gas on the weekend before, and that aint cool, this way I never have to worry anymore

    No kidding tanks aint cheap.

You probably know this but for those that don't, leave the MT one with some gas in it. Especially if you can't get to filling it right away. Helps avoid any moisture buildup in the tank.

Gawd! I thought once I got my Miller MIG I would never go back to my Lincoln Flux Core. Boy am I glad I didn't sell it though. I used it today to weld the neck back on to an oil catch/drum. Took me literally 3 minutes and I made $50. WHOOT WHOOT!

dude just throw a roll of flux core wire in the miller whenever you need it. It takes like 2 minutes and you can make some money selling the lincoln.

But the Lincoln is easily portable. The Miller would take some time removing it from it's cart and what have you.

If you don't need to dough, keep the Lincoln and leave the FC in it.
