The box the welder came in was still taped from the factory. The box was never opened. The hose and regulator are in sealed bags. I plugged in the unit at my friend's house and it powered right up. The drive motor works fine and I adjusted wire speed to check that and it works great. Online reviews are good as well.

Then I guess you got a good welder then. Get a can of welding gas, some decent 70s wire and build something.

Just watch out for fires. I've been welding for 30 years and I still worry about smoldering embers. I can't count the times I went to sleep wondering if I don't have something smoldering. Up I get and out to the shop I go to check.

Just how are you figuring your 19 hours.

    In any case Good luck

Back in the day I used to fly with all kinds of tools . Now they would freak seeing the Air drills and Impact guns let alone the hardware

16 hours driving. I figure 19 after fuel stops and rest and whatnot. Going to a nuclear plant in south Carolina. 1" plate test with backing strap 7018 all the way. Simple twst but they said they have been busting people left and right just for simple visual flaws like cap height and whatnot. I'm nervous lol

Make sure you allow enough time to be fresh and rested before doing your test .

I don`t know about South Carolina but up here it is hard to find skilled workers companies are using Bill boards trying to attract potential employees

Why is it so hard to find workers? Structural test are pretty much easy. Unless the QC's just want absolute perfection on every weld

Those of us that are working for the most enjoy what we are doing .

People are lazy call off for a paper cut or to give the dog a bath Don`t feel like getting out of bed at 0 dark thirty

Some how fail the drug test or back ground checks

I know That Morgan Truck Body and Great Dane Trailers are looking for quite a lot of people

Sad fact we have 5 Gas fired power plants within 3 hours being built

Granted some are still looking for the $100,000.00 a year to start while getting Food Stamps .

Pretty much every one who wants to work is it seems

Dang that's crazy. I'm struggling to stay busy down here at times. fuck, this job is SC pay rate is actually pretty low for traveling but do what you gotta do to pay the bills. It's supposed to be a 3+ year job so maybe il hangout a year and just keep migrating north if the work and money is right.

New Lincoln Precision Tig 275 out of the box does not like the thumb remote lead inside the torch protective cover

The High Frequency when welding in AC caused to much interference to adjust output .

Working fine in DC because High Frequency is start only

As soon as the remote lead was removed from the cover to inspect the lead things started working like they should

 from 10 hours of orientation and safety training. We go on site to start weld testing tomorrow and should be on site till Friday. Then back in the office for training for another week lol.

All I can say is... They are picky as hell with nuclear stuff. Coal plants are a vacation compared to this

Test has started. 3g and 4g 1" plates 3/8 gap and 3/8 backing strap. 6 hours to finish both. Once they look at my root pass, I'm free to burn all the way up to the cap.

Got a bunch of rejects already lol.

Well fuck. Busted my first test. Bad feeling but I still have a job back home so it'll be alright. I failed on something stupid and nerves got to me too. Ah well. They said to come back in 30 days.
